The anti gun crowd brings this reaction from the gun crowd.    Why they don't just educate everyone on guns in schools is beyond me .  It would lead to a more informed electorate which is probably not what they want anyway.   And education would lessen the effect that the NRA had on the issue.

That kind of BS has been littering my FB page for 7 years and it is only getting worse.

It would not be legal and it would not be feasible.

I do not own a gun.  I have never fired a gun.  BUT...I defend the 2nd amendment because it is your right to bear arms.

Do I like it to be tempered with some common sense?  Sure.  But you have a right to your gun.  The part I do NOT like is when the gun becomes an external penis being waved around by someone who thinks it makes them more of a "man".

And the other thing I do NOT like is the BS line that the President (or any president) is actually ever going to come for your weapons.

Talking about how nice it would be if we didn't have weapons and stopped killing each other over being cut off in traffic, or playing music too loud, or being the wrong color or wrong religion or onthe opposite side of some position is not the same as saying he is coming for your guns.

It is not.

You don't think he is an atheist? He won't admit it for political reasons. But his actions are of someone who doesn't believe in God .

His church was more militant than religious .

I think lots of politicians give much less of a crap about religion than they let on; that is what happens when you make something a cost-of-entry checkbox.  Who cares?  Jimmy Carter is so legit Christian it is insane, and yet the right-wing hatred he has been getting for the past 40 years is legendary.

And of course I consider the source, but Jim Bakker said Jimmy Carter may be the only democrat that makes it to heaven.

Well I don't vote for someone based on their religious beliefs. So I don't see the big deal one way or the other. I would prefer that Obama or any policitian would trust us enough to let us know where they were... It wouldn't change my opinion of Obama, just like it doesn't change my opinion of Carter that he is religious.
