An US president slamming Europe for crime. That itself is absurd.

I can tell that tweet is authentic just by looking.
One minute Dino is criticizing Trump and the next he is supporting him.

I’m not a regular in P&R, but it seems to me that there doesn’t seem to be a lot of genuine rebuttals to the Trump bashing. Not that I’m complaining, but usually there’s more protest than this. Did the Trumpsters here decide that you all watch too much fake news or are they convinced that you’re part of the deep state?

There's still a couple in complete denial of reality and refusing to believe any facts that are contrary to their personal belief about Trump.  Some are so deep they just took their ball and went home.  Smirk

It’s amazing how easy it seems to be to get certain people to vote against their own interest.

Well, there can't be "genuine rebuttals" because Trump actually does what he does, right out in the open. Can you imagine the equally criminal Nixon saying on camera "Well I fired the FBI director because his investigation into my administration was unjustified"?  "China should investigate Biden too?"

But I've seen a pattern over the past three years.

A trumpster starts or jumps into a thread with some claim to present "alternative facts" about a Trump issue to debunk supposed MSM spin. But that claim itself is quickly debunked in one or two rounds of posting and the pro Trumper simply leaves the field, sometimes to return weeks later to defend some new violation of our national norms or federal laws. These defenses can involve varying levels of gas lighting, denial, equivocation and factual inaccuracy--"no proof Trump actually grabbed P," "proof walls work," "we undermine other countries elections," "all presidents use quid pro quo in foreign policy," "Trump has been harder on Russia than any other president," "The impeachment is based on hearsay," and "the Mueller Report cleared Trump of wrongdoing."  In short, lines repeated by Fox commentators, which cannot survive the light of MSM scrutiny.  Either implicitly or explicitly, this group trusts what Trump says about Trump, and not what the "Fake News" says about the founding father of birtherism.

There is also the distinct but related phenomenon of Trump "defenders"--people who claim not to support or even like Trump, but consistently run interference for him whenever someone (usually Dino) posts a link to the latest Trump outrage. This group attacks the attackers with whataboutism and challenges to the "hypocrisy" of individual posters on this message board or Dems as a party. Sure Trump tweets naughty things but with no damage beyond exploding liberal heads. Foreign policy really no worse than anyone else's. Better than Obama's. etc. TDS.  This group has been quieter since the Senate acquitted Trump without allowing the subpoena of witnesses and documents, and Trump promptly began purging the executive of any who would not cover for him and using the DOJ to pardon those guilty of political corruption.

The first group is personally invested IN Trump to the point of receiving criticism of him as personal criticism. The second is more invested in just opposing "the left." Criticisms of Trump are somehow equally unbalanced or extreme as Trump's denigration of women, his own intel services, and immigrants from "shithole" countries. Still not as bad as Hillary and "socialism."

The GOP has been trying to lower voter turnout for decades. The concept of everyone voting and everyone's vote being equal scares them.

This works. I think the judgment problem falls upon his followers.  Not Trump

Well, do you really think Trump believes our votes are as important as his vote?

Took them awhile to catch up to the technology that the Continental Army had during 5he American Revolution.

NO but seriously; they bought them with all the money Obama took from the working class and gave to the Iranians.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

Until they can sink most of the Iranian Air Force, shooting down gunboats will have only marginal effect.

Did you happen to see what's been going on in states and counties that usually have low voter turn out now that the Rona has forced mail-in ballots?

I saw that Kansas tripled (though they also moved from a caucus to a primary) while Ohio is expected to be lower.
