The wife of newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) runs a counseling business that deems such acts as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, along with bestiality, and incest as "sinful and offensive to God," according to a report by the Huffington Post.

Kelly Johnson runs the Onward Christian Counseling Services, which preaches Bible-based pastoral counseling.
According to the outlet, the company's website features a link to an eight-page operating agreement that it published in full.

The document that was signed on July 1, 2017, breaks down the company's corporate bylaws such as treating the Bible as the "ultimate authority of the company," marriage is defined as having "only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture."



It also seems to preach tolerance.


"We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity," according to the document. "Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of the Company."

Yet its tenor of acceptance appears to be at odds with certain acts that are considered unforgivable.


“We believe and the Bible teaches that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God,” the document reads, according to the Huffington Post.


Raw Story cannot independently verify the document's inclusion on the website because it appeared to be offline or nonfunctioning as of Friday night. Its Facebook page remains live but seems to have languished since March 2022 when the couple posted a podcast titled "Can America Be Saved?"

Huffington Post didn't receive a comment when they attempted to reach a Johnson spokeswoman.


Speaker Johnson has already come under some criticism for criticizing homosexuality.

According to a 2005 op-ed dug up by CNN’s KFile Johnson wrote: "Your race, creed, and sex are what you are, while homosexuality and cross-dressing are things you do.""

“This is a free country, but we don’t give special protections for every person’s bizarre choices.”


He also wrote, “Homosexual relationships are inherently unnatural and, the studies clearly show, are ultimately harmful and costly for everyone... Polygamists, polyamorists, pedophiles, and others will be next in line to claim equal protection."


"They already are. There will be no legal basis to deny a bisexual the right to marry a partner of each sex, or a person to marry his pet.”

On an appearance with Fox News' Sean Hannity, Speaker Johnson expressed how he lives and breathes his faith.

“Go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it, that’s my worldview,” he said to the conservative host. “That’s what I believe, and so I make no apologies for it.”
