On a more serious note:  Why can't we stop doing these things?  Why do we think WE deserve what other people have so we go kill for it?  Are humans just dumb?

For the most part, we're closer to that now than at maybe any point in recorded history. There are still conflicts — and likely will always be — but nothing like the fighting that's come before, at least in terms of scale. I don't know if that's because we're getting better as a race or because humans are just getting closer to killing off different humans so we've narrowed it down (a handful of races, fewer cultures, fewer religions, etc). You can probably make an argument either way.
