At our polling place I was #888. I don't think I've ever been about 400 when I vote after work.
Listening to a few of the people in line there were quite a few first time voters. They were white, they wore shit kickers, they all wanted paper ballots to make sure their vote was counted correctly.
And there's nothing wrong with that at all. They wanted to vote and they did.
I'm not 100% sure they knew what they were voting for based on what I heard in line but they voted and those votes count too.
There were more angry, rural voters who feel this country isn't like the one they grew up in who wanted to go back to that. Now we see if that indeed happens.
