look for the party to shift more left once the numbers are sorted in a year or so.
I don't think they need to shift more left. I think that would be a mistake. I think they need to pick a better quality candidate. They probably could have won with the 3rd most unpopular candidate in history instead the 2nd most unpopular candidate in history.
