No matter how you cut it (social acceptance, economics, or government control) they don't belong near each other.
True libertarianism is not alive and well in America if that is the case. Communism is more likely to embrace state control over much of the economy. In a great act of patriotism, Coca-Cola and many other US companies made fortunes in Nazi Germany, a fascist state. These American companies pledged allegiance to the profits, and to the greed for which they stand.
It sounds like you are equating libertarianism more with socialism. As noted previously, for many self proclaimed libertarians them's fightin' words. Are libertarians closest to socialists in your view?
