Politics is the only thing he and I disagree on...and he is WAY to the right.

So a couple things here strictly from the technical side...

• Gauge of wire means nothing
• Fireworks are often used in pieces as parts of a lot of improvised explosives because....they are explosive devices
• Clock is needed because you don't want it to explode in transit. My guess is the hope was it would sit inside on someones desk before being opened.
• Why do they believe it have an alarm function? Because there aren't old time bells on top? There is most likely a setting for an alarm that does create a trigger point at a board level that the wires are connected to.
• Why would the wiring not go end to end? There are plenty of ways to skin a cat the main thing is the wires are there to create ignition. My guess is there is exposed wire running inside the bomb that when the circuit completes on the time the clock is set for the exposed wired causes ignition of the material between the ends through arching or some other process.
