This isn't a bad thing. Solutions that are both cheaper and better than the old ways is what boosts the standard of living for a society. Sure it sucks for any individual whose livelihood is now absolute, innovation is great and absolutely necessary.
Sunset did tile work. His business was dependent upon the housing market. The housing market didn't collapse because of cheaper and better solutions boosting our standard of living. The housing market collapsed because of greed and dishonest business practices sparking the Great Recession which had an adverse affect on the standard of living of millions of Americans.
