You can wear whatever you want, but you will be judged accordingly.

You may love the shape of a swastika, but if you wear it in public you will be judged based on what it represents.

Same with the Confederate flag.  I live in the south and I understand that for years the confederate flag was mostly a sign of "southern pride" instead of racism.  But now that it has been adopted as a symbol of hate by hate groups everyone is going to have to consider this if they want to fly or wear it.

The MAGA hat does not represent the Republican party.  Many Republicans would never wear it.  It is strictly a symbol of Donald Trump.  And if you are going to advertise that you support Trump then people have no way of knowing that you don't support the statements and activities that have made him a favorite among white supremacists.
