...but the cotton saying was indeed a bit of a, well, courageous line to bring. Or say, insensitive. That someone (sure not me, I am quite incorrect myself) might jump at you for that is not surprising at all and can't be a surprise to you. It has something of intentionally stirring a pot.

That being said, I have no reason at all to assume you'd have racist tendencies. I consider it unwise to imply otherwise. But why would you bait such responses in the first place.
