Acosta is a self-serving POS and this is the reason the story in the OP is making news. Acosta had balls enough to ask a question that he hoped would help the sales of his book.

Of course none of this excuses Trump's inaction on the matter, but let's not paint Acosta as some 1st Amendment freedom fighter

Of course it does.  If we "lol" at the reporter who then we can shift focus from the question.

If we accuse a reporter who asked a legitimate question of simply wanting to help his book sales then we can ignore the question.
