As to the op, I don't know anything about the show. I guess, in a nutshell, if it promotes pedophilia I'm against it. But there is a difference in discussing it (if it does) and promoting it.

Unfortunately, the worthwhile cause (ending pedophilia) has largely been derailed as a campaign issue.

the directing award at Sundance is no surprise.

If the review is accurate, then the film critiques role model choices offered young girls today, especially in the first world. It's the opposite of promoting pedophilia, but the dance scene gone viral will certainly meet pedophile approval.

There is a specific cultural context too as the Somalian girl is a Senegalese Muslim immigrant living in Paris, where her poor mother is tasked with preparing a room for her husband's second wife. The other girls are also immigrants from different cultures. As the director is a Sengalese immigrant as well, it promises a glimpse of the world through Senegalese immigrant eyes.

Like I say, haven't seen it, but everything I have read promises depth and a serious film.  The dance images though will be separated out from the film by pedophiles and anti-porno groups. to promote condemnation and boycotts.
