Not because he's my musical idol, but the facts with Pete are that he had used a Credit Card to register with a site, that was affiliated with... that form of pornography or something like that; his history was gone through, hard drives, data devices, etc., etc., not a smidgen of content was found anywhere and he never actually went on anything related to... that form of pornography.

I don't necessarily buy his, "research," claim, but the hard data shows he never obtained or viewed anything at any time.

As to the op, I don't know anything about the show. I guess, in a nutshell, if it promotes pedophilia I'm against it. But there is a difference in discussing it (if it does) and promoting it.

Unfortunately, the worthwhile cause (ending pedophilia) has largely been derailed as a campaign issue. 

Not a show, a film.

If the review is accurate, then the film critiques role model choices offered young girls today, especially in the first world. It's the opposite of promoting pedophilia, but the dance scene gone viral will certainly meet pedophile approval.

There is a specific cultural context too as the Somalian girl is a Muslim immigrant living in Paris, where her poor mother is tasked with preparing a room for her husband's second wife. The other girls are also immigrants from different cultures. As the director is a Somalian immigrant as well, it promises a glimpse of the world through Somalian immigrant eyes.

Like I say, haven't seen it, but everything I have read promises depth and a serious film.  The dance images though will be separated out from the film by pedophiles and anti-porno groups. to promote condemnation and boycotts.

I haven't seen it either, but I saw the trailer yesterday and what is in the trailer, as mentioned above, doesn't look any different from those TLC shows or what you see in a schoolyard at recess (my wife mentions often, how ridiculously *10* year olds dress nowadays and she's only 27, so it's not like she's a curmudgeon or anything).

I also think someone with an agenda wrote the imdb parents guide, as it constantly states that, "Twerking," occurs throughout the film. That single word set a ton of people off.

My POV on these things are that art is art and it is subjective to everyone; get the context and meaning behind it before condemning it (unless it's a snuff film set out to do just that, like that Norwegian film from a few years back; that has no artistic value, IMO) and if the film is blatantly sexualizing children and promoting it, then go ahead and tear it down.

But if it is a deconstruction on what children values are shown as in today's world and it is a critique on liberal Western Culture, as opposed to conservative Muslim Culture, then that is what the film should have its merits based upon.

Either way, I don't (and never will) have Netflix, so I'll never know.

100% does (just see the YT comments on the trailer, for how people are turning this political). I actually came into PnR last night to see if anyone had started a thread on it and no one had yet.

(I saw, #cancelnetflix trending on Twitter and was SUPER excited, because I hate every shred of that organization's existence and how they've destroyed physical media)
