"If you don't want minimum wage, don't have minimum skills." Excellent point. However, the meme generator - and perhaps the poster as well (?) - fails to recognize that "the market" has decided that Baconator and Burger Flipper have minimum skills as do E1 and E5. If E1 and E5 could find a better job than getting shot at for less than 9 and 17 dollars respectively they almost certainly would.

Furthermore, those who oppose minimum wage hikes often oppose minimum wage period. They say E1 and E5 should be allowed to get shot at for 10 cents and 20 cents an hour respectively if they choose to. In fact, they argue, if E1 and E5 want to get shot at for free they should be allowed to - demanding that their Uncle Sam pay them a minimum wage or any wage at all violates the freedom of E1, of E5, and of Uncle Sam. Think how many more kids could be enjoying getting shot at and deployed for long periods if Uncle Sam was allowed to cut their wage in half and they were allowed to accept it. Military ranks would certainly swell under such a freedom loving initiative. But those ***** liberals with their big government agenda won't let Sam and E1 and E5 do the right thing and eliminate the minimum wage - not even for soldiers.

And just for the sake of thoroughness, lets point out some other things.

1. The person or bot creating the meme clearly has an Anti-FryBoy and McBurgerFlipper Agenda. In a perfect world governed by this meme's agenda we could round up FryBuys and McBurgerFlippers on trucks and put them in safe places where they - by virtue of their poor life choices - no longer were a threat to society. This would also be an economic boon because A) the jobs "designed for kids" could be staffed by kids and if they were underaage 10 their wages could be suppressed to pennies an hour, and if they were over 10 they would still work for less because the minimum wage would be gone and children are week and the corporation is strong. It is good enough for China and North Korea, why not America? And, B) the FryGuys and McBurgerFlippers in the camps could be guarded by E1s working for double the wage of the new fast food worker. If a 12 or 14 year old will work in the burger shack for $1.50 an hour then the E1 guarding McBurgerFlipper and FryBoy in the camp should earn $3 an hour. We have created an economy that shows we value E1 twice as much as an adolescent who is working but not getting shot at and created high paying jobs for the E1s that have flooded into the military due to the removal of minimum wage.

2. The meme also ignores the housing, health care, job training, and other benefits that military enlistees receive. It even implies there is no prestige in being in the military. This is quite strange since the meme attempts to 'make a good point' about the relative value of two adults, a restaurant employee and a soldier, and say one is more valuable. Yet it downplays any prestige given to a soldier and focuses on denigrating the restaurant worker. Furthermore, it ignores total compensation - housing, health care, job training and education benefits that can position a soldier for a much better career path post-service - which makes it clear that yes, the soldier is "more valued" and better compensated than the restaurant worker.

3. Finally, the meme implies that a minimum wage hike would raise the wage of FryBoy and McBurgerFlipper and Baconator, while allowing Uncle Sam to exempt himself from raising the salary of E1, E5, or any one else in the chain of command. NO minimum wage legislation ever proposed has included such an exemption. This means that, yes...

4. The meme - in attacking a minimum wage increase - is attacking a pay raise for E1 and E5. With the focus on denigrating restaurant workers that might be overlooked, but the meme is in clear opposition to a pay raise for soldiers.

In conclusion, if someone posts this meme to show how stupid it is - as a joke - as a look at what some moron drew up - then a good laugh is to be had. But if someone posted or read the meme and agreed with it, he or she is a stone cold imbecile as well as unpatriotic, anti-military, and just plain misanthropic. If you are one of those people, attack a teacher because you didn't learn much in school, and spit on a veteran because you have total contempt for veterans as people, for the value of the work they do, and for the value of the work of all people.
JOHN ROBERTS: From time to time in the years to come, I hope you will be treated unfairly so that you will come to know the value of justice... I wish you bad luck, again, from time to time so that you will be conscious of the role of chance in life and understand that your success is not completely deserved and that the failure of others is not completely deserved either.
