The gap of air is there to keep the doritos from breaking during shipping and transport, not to dupe you into thinking the bag is filled to the brim with chips. Hell, that ruse would only work once wouldn't it? I would sincerely hope by now people don't think bags of chips MIGHT be filled to the tippity top just this one time.
