Yesterday I saw a patient who wanted sleeping pills. The patient already had a prescription for sleeping pills. I asked if they worked.
The patient answered, "I don't want to take them everyday."

That's how pills work. You have to take them. If you don't, they won't work. I can't write a prescription for a pill that will work if you refuse to take it.
Then the patient want to talk about an over the counter eye drop, " I can't take these with aspirin."
"Do you take aspirin?" I asked.
"No."
"Then what are we talking about?"
"I don't know."
FML x 2
The patient's chart list aspirin as an allergy. The patient can't take anything with aspirin because they can't take aspirin period.
FML x 3
So if you're ever in a lobby complaining about the wait time to seen because you're sick or injured; this is why.
