It's all about personal responsibility and I'm pretty sure Americans care too much about others to ever get behind the wheel of a vehicle after drinking alcohol.
I've been told by a conservative on this website that 30-60K die each year due to the flu and no one cares. Less than 11K died of alcohol related MVAs in 2016 so I'm sure "no one cares" about drunk driving, either. Just media driven panic. At this point your chance of getting killed by a drunk driver is less than getting killed by Covid-19, so grab your AR-15 and meet me at the state capitol building to protest.
I'm not sure at what point people start to care about people dying, but it seems to be more than 88K Covid-19 related deaths (and climbing) in the US alone.
