In the interest of not being disingenuous all around, though, in Jan. 2010 they were 16.5 and dropped pretty consistently from there on for blscks specifically. Likewise, the numbers were high across the board when Obama took office and consistently got better through both his year's and Trump's.

Personally, I don't think either POTUS did a lot to really make dramatic improvements in employment, but I don't think either did a lot to screw things up.

My position is that if you're choosing to promote the premise that the President takes all credit for unemployment rates, you have to be consistent in it.

So the original poster of the meme should accept that any unemployment rate falls onto the president, no matter the circumstances. I didn't post the meme. 

Of course, that wasn't the only false premise with that meme.
