They only signed him because he tore his ACL; it was between him and John Brown for kicker in 2013. In hindsight it was a good move because Brown beat his wife and never played in the NFL again.
Rudi Johnson was the last nonkicker to sign a long term deal with the Bengals after he was tagged in 2004.
