I can't say he represents mine, but that's just fine I suppose.  Americans allowing Jesus to become a mascot or marketing strategy of sorts for one of our political parties plays a large role in the warped view a lot of believers, non believers, and apathetic "Ida know, maybe" types alike have of him and his teachings. 

I don't see American politicians as great emissaries for Christ, but that's just my take.  Not enough lovin' of our neighbor and what not going on up in here.
