Sadly many in here have no faith in God, but I pray some day you will understand Jesus dies for our (your) sins, we are all sinners, but we can be redeemed.

The day I accepted Jesus died for my sins, then was resurrected was the day my life changed. I will never waiver from my faith and I will continue to ask God to be a better person tomorrow than I was today because I know I am a sinner and will always be a sinner. My excuse for not accepting God was I knew I made many mistakes and was far from perfect so I did not want to appear as a hypocrite. But, I learned being a child of God will never make me perfect.

Mike Johnson represents my Christian values, he too is not perfect. People can spew hate towards religion and people who have strong relationships with God, but hate never makes us better people, just the opposite,

May God bless you all.

Wars have been occurring since the beginning of them regardless of how people worshiped or not.  Wars are generally fought over 2 things...land or religion. The current conflict in Israel covers both categories.  The Crusades were fought a thousand years ago. To think the current world is going to hell because of a lack of faith ignores world history.

I am glad you find comfort and peace in your faith

I am sad, however, that you use people like Mike Johnson, as someone who reflects your faith.  He uses God as his excuse to hate.  He uses God as his justification for his own bigotry.  He uses God as his reason to punish those who do not believe.  His public policies reflect a disdain toward the poor, the hungry, the sick, the refugees, or the homeless.  Yet the Bible says to feed the poor, heal the sick, and house the homeless.  The Bible implores believers to lift up the least of us and Johnson's policies step all over them.  He chooses to punish the sinner not forgive them.  Jesus wants his followers to show empathy, and compassion, and lend his fellow man a helping hand. Mike Johnson might speak the words but his actions say something else entirely

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use-Galileo
