We go Striper fishing on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky and they look very similar to that. i guess they are salt and freshwater fish? If thats even possible?

Striper are much like salmon.  They spawn in freshwater but live out most of their lives in saltwater.  They can adapt to living in freshwater and most if not all freshwater Striped Bass have been introduced via humans.
