People are Sleeping on us, and that's okay
Posted by: NotBigzo - 05-13-2024, 12:13 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (33)

When I've gone through social media and listened to pundits, i'm getting the impression that the Bengals are a second thought to teams like KC, Baltimore, Houston, and San Francisco. People are still high on us, but there's too many outside variables for people to be comfortable with penning us in as the favorites to take down Kansas City.

If Burrow stays healthy,

If the O line can block better.

If the defense isn't as bad.

If you multiple pi by the square root of my girlfriend's ass.

Then maybe, maybe, the Bengals have a shot. It's almost like...it's the same vibes as the the 2021 season.

Honestly, I have tempered expectations going into the season, which is usually a recipe for me having a better time. When the Bengals exceeded my expectations time and time again in '21. it was the most fun I ever had as a Bengals fan. Honestly, I kind of miss those times.

Today officially kicks off year number 10 of The Bengals Board.

Hard to believe we already have 9 full years in the books and are now heading towards a decade.  Mellow

Just wanted to express my gratitude to this community for making and keeping this board a great place to interact with other fans.

  8 down 2 to go

1/2 the draft class have signed their contracts. I would expect the other 6 to sign before the end of Rookie Camp

I do not miss the old days of "will he or won't he" sign before training camp

If I counted correctly, there are still 3 open slots to reach 90 but I'm sure roster guru Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 will let us know for sure''

Amarius Mims named best pick of 1st Round by PFF
Posted by: SunsetBengal - 05-09-2024, 03:00 PM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (89)

If this guy even half way lives up to the hype and potential surrounding his abilities, the Bengals will be in great shape at the RT spot for years to come.

Quote:The Cincinnati Bengals 2024 draft class has been touted by experts as one of the best in the NFL.

Now, per Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema, it’s selection of Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims is being declared the best of the first round.

Sikkema, who selected the best pick from each round of the 2024 draft, took Mims, who the Bengals took 18th overall, has his top first round selection, writing, “Mims is a fantastic athlete for his size but struggled with injuries at Georgia. Regardless, he allowed just six quarterback pressures across 402 career pass-blocking snaps and should start very soon, as Trent Brown is only a short-term solution for the team at right tackle.

“Mims is not a polished prospect — he is a level below former teammate and first-round pick Broderick Jones — but he brings sky-high potential.”
Here’s who Mims took as the best pick in each round of the draft:

1st Round: Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia (Cincinnati Bengals)
2nd Round: Cooper DeJean, DB Iowa (Philadelphia Eagles)
3rd Round: Andru Phillips, DB Kentucky (New York Giants)
4th Round: Javon Baker, WR UCF (New England Patriots)
5th Round: Sedrick Van Pran, C Georgia (Buffalo Bills)
6th Round: Mekhi Wingo, DT LSU (Detroit Lions)
7th Round: KT Leveston, OL Kansas State (Los Angeles Rams)

  2024 Bourbon for Burrow Raffle
Posted by: WeezyBengal - 05-08-2024, 10:38 AM - Forum: JUNGLE NOISE - Replies (5)

Hello friends,

Every year I host a golf outing in Columbus, Ohio. The outing has multiple avenues of raising money and 100% of the money that's raised goes to the Joe Burrow Foundation.

If you don't know about the Joe Burrow Foundation, it's a wonderful organization that helps underprivileged families in a number of ways. The organization helps families with mental illness resources, food insecurity, and more.

You can read more about it here: https://joeburrow.org/

One of the ways we raise money for the foundation is to do a bourbon/Liquor raffle. With Bengalholics blessing, I am able to offer this raffle to the board. If you'd like to support the foundation you can buy tickets for entries to win the bottles below.

You can pay via Venmo to my profile: @Jeff-Gangloff
When paying, please be SPECIFIC. State your board username and how many tickets you want. Example: "WeezyBengal - 5 tickets". Once i get your entry, I will send you a confirmation PM on this board.

I'll accept entries up until Friday the 17th and announce the winner on Monday the 20th along with a receipt of donation to he Joe Burrow Foundation. I will ship the liquor to the winner (yes, this is legal Smirk). Good luck and I am hoping we get a fat stack of money to donate to a good cause!
