Demetrius Knight

In all the conversations about Henrickson and Stewart's contract situations, we have forgotten that Knight is also still unsigned. Just because he practiced in the relative no-contact OTAs doesn't mean he will extend that to a full training camp.

Has there been any talk about what the hold up is with him?

It's next season and I'm hopeful

It has been discussed in other threads. Right now, 30 second rounders have not been signed. As far as I understand, the reason for the hold up is that the first two selected in the second round were given unprecedented, fully guaranteed contracts.

Didn't know that about the first two second round picks. Thanks Nepa. All I know is that Knight practiced so he is all in and I am sure he will
be signed soon. Sure like how he takes great angles and wraps up like a mutha, things Pratt was pretty terrible at the last few years.

I didn't, personally, I just don't consider him an overly-critical piece to the success of the defense.
I just think Bengals can run with Wilson and Burks in 2-LB sets, Carter for extra LB if need be and be ok.

Same with Stewart. Bengals can get by with Hendrickson, Ossai, Murphy, Sample, and Johnson.
Stewart is a nice-to-have that has plenty of work to do to make an impact on the defense.
Not having Hendrickson though would be a huge blow.
No one on the roster is replacing 35.0 sacks in 2 years.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I disagree Stewart will bring making impacts early.. without top 2 draft picks we are thin and no depth in trouble

Of course, one of the teams giving a fully guaranteed contract to a 2nd rounder was Cleveland. First  Deshaun Watson with a  unprecedented fully guaranteed contract and now a second rounder with a fully guaranteed contract. I guess when your owner is Jimmy Haslem, you don't have any concern in setting new financial precedents for the rest of the teams.
