That could have been an ok starting 3 LBs.
And then they could have gotten a LB in Rd 4 like they did with Carter or gone with someone else to groom for a year while Pratt was on his final year under contract.
I would have much preferred an IOL or pass rushing DT in Rd 2 instead of a LB, let alone taking two LBs.
Coaches must have seen a much bigger concern/problem with Pratt than I think existed to have brought in basically 3 new LBs and then let Pratt go.
I'm still worried about the interior pass rush and IOL blocking.
I liked Pratt, but I was tired of watching him get drug down the field on every tackle while he was trying to rip the ball out instead of putting the guy on the ground.

I saw Shemar give Dylan a little trouble too, but he handled our big NT Slaton, Dylan is a strong sumbitch. I like his feet too and he has powerful hands.

No doubt Sled. You can see when Knight gets a shot at you he puts you on the ground quick.
Ask Tahj who he popped a little late yesterday that set off a bit of a scrum.

I don't recall him "getting drug down the field on every tackle," but the constant attempts to try for FF instead of just going for the tackle was frustrating.
I thought that could have been coached though, not needing to just move on from the dude.
Either way, I didn't feel like a new LB (especially what some would argue is a 2-down LB in a similar mold in DK) was really needed over some other positions of need without needing to reach.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

I think he was not wrapping up and go for FF was why the ball carriers dragged him down the field was his point too.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I am with you, there.
I knew we likely were gonna have to live with some warts as we had a ton of holes. But I liked the Burks signing and could have lived with Wilson, Pratt, and Burks + maybe a lower round pick. Or, a real difference maker, like Campbell.
All this talk of Knight being a Vyper does not make a ton of sense to me.
But Golden is a LB coach & he went hard at new LBs: Burks, Knight, Carter, and Giles-Harris in, Pratt, ADG, and Bachie out. And decided to go status quo at S, CB, and 3T (until Bryan).
After Rankins, Hubbard, and Cappa, Pratt/Stone were the highest paid vets kost likely to be replaced. One was and the other took a haircut. If Pratt was willing, he might still be here.
But his insistence on being a 3 down guy when he wasn't anymore, the FF hunting, and the Ossai thing just bugged me. I probably would have gritted my teeth for a year and went to other stuff, but I get ripping the band aid.

Knight sure doesn't look like a 2 down LB at camp. All over the place with range breaking up passes in coverage everywhere...
And his strengths are Pratt's weaknesses, he comes down hill taking good angles wrapping up the runner.

I haven't really been following/watching camp with craziness at work going on.
I'm mainly going off his scouting report leading up to when he was drafted.
If he shows he can be a 3-down LB, great.
I just won't see it until games are on here.

I loved him breaking up that Burrow pass that he had seen the day before, and Burrow coming up to him and telling him he wanted to see if he learned anything from the prior day.

Cool bud, I understand not having the time to watch the vids. Luckily I get some time off once I get shit done to watch them.
Knight looks really good in all the vids I have seen. Way sleeker than Pratt ever was, fast, great in coverage and likes to hit.
Him and Logan seem to have a natural connection out there. Hopefully you can see some of it soon. Preseason games are coming up.
I don't know how much we will see of the starters though, the Lions didn't play any starters last night and got their asses handed to them
by the Chargers. Hope we don't look like that even though the Lions will be fine I am sure, still a damn good team. But losing all those good
coaches could really hurt them. Both Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson were really good.
