Neither of those facts are going to help him.

This is pure speculation, but doesn't it feel like he's worried that he'll underperform on speed and agility drills, potentially hitting his draft stock?
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Alot of the Alabama guys didn't participate of course they have another pro day coming up. Some of them skipped drills that would raise question marks like Alex Leatherwood. Leatherwood skipped the timed agility and body control drills. ( Shuttle, 3cone)

Yeah, that is why I said it's not going to help him.

I keep seeing people pointing out DeSean Jackson and Antonio Brown to try to defend him. Jackson was indeed 169lbs at the Combine, but he was 3-4 inches shorter, so it was spread over less. Also DeSean Jackson has only played 16 games in 2 of his 13 career years, so yeah, it was a real concern. (He also ran 4.35) As for Antonio Brown, at the Combine he was 16 pounds heavier and 3 inches shorter than Smith is. (He also benched 13 times)

6'1 and 170 just is too damn thin and I can't imagine he'll stay healthy or really beat press coverage. The NFL has plenty of guys like William Jackson who are 190-195lbs and run a 4.4 at CB. I think he's going to get manhandled a bit.

He could certainly prove me wrong, but I wouldn't put money (or a 1st round pick) on it.

Smith is fast, but not blazing fast. He's not very physical. He's not very tall. He wins with route running and has good hands. He reminds me of Chad kinda actually.

MICAH PARSONS

Parsons is NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks' No. 1 linebacker in this year's draft and Thursday was the first chance for scouts to see him since the 2019 season, as he opted out of the 2020 campaign. He ran the 40 in 4.39 seconds -- an excellent time -- put up 19 bench-press reps, posted a 34-inch vertical jump and a broad jump of 10 feet, 6 inches.

He measured 6-foot-3, 246 pounds with 31 1/4-inch arms and massive, 11-inch hands.

"You just don't see guys (of Parsons' size) run 4.39 and then when you turn on the tape, they disrupt at every level," said Brooks during Thursday's edition of NFL Now. "His ability to rush the passer, he plays with strong hands, he's terrific against the run -- he is a difference maker. I think this (workout) will be a reminder to NFL scouts that this guy deserves the big grades that some of us want to put on him."

I think he is exactly the type of LBer the Bengals’ defense has lacked for a long time. But, I don’t think I would draft him at 5. But, would consider him outside of the top 10 in a trade back scenario. Minor character concerns give me pause that I would want to know more.

Agree.  There are so many intriguing defensive players in this draft I would love, but given free agency it looks like we'll have to draft oline and wr.   it hurts, lol.

Virginia Tech's S Divine Deablo just ran a 4.46.

Besides having one or the best names on earth he is the type of player every team wants with his size weight speed as a S/LB combo. It would be a new position for him because he was the center field safety st VT.

Day 2 Michigan WR Nico Collins had a great pro day.

Quote:Nico Collins entered Michigan's pro day Friday as a player to watch, and the former Wolverines wide receiver did not disappoint. In the 40-yard dash, Collins clocked a time of 4.42 seconds.

Collins also registered a 6.78-second result in the three-cone drill, a mark that would have been the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine's third-best time. After standing in at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds on the scale, Collins measured 9 3/8-inch hands, 34 1/8-inch arms and a 78 1/2-inch wingspan.

In the vertical, Collins notched a 37 1/2-inch jump. Collins added a 10-foot-5 result in the broad jump.

Christian Darrisaw only did position drills. He did meet with the Steelers though along with VT S/LB Divine Deablo.

Pittsburgh thinking about trading up or what? I hope Darrisaw is gone by the time they pick at 24 if he’s who they have their eye on.

Like the Bengals the Steelers are doing their homework on most of the offensive linemen in the class because alot of their guys out gone.
