It's rookie slotted, won't be that impressive.

Interesting. Typically, the Bengals start with the late Day 3 picks and the 1st rounder is one of the last to sign.

Probably because it's easier to sign pick 31 than a top 10 pick.

Odafe Oweh was the 31st pick in 2021 and he signed for 4yr/$11.34m

So probably roughly that, plus a bit.

Aren't all the 1st round picks already set at whatever number and pretty much non-negotiable ?

There's details in the contract to negotiate, including guaranteed money.

It also increases each year...
2020 4yr/$11.25m
2019 4yr/$10.27m
2018 4yr/$9.62m
2017 4yr/$9.04m

Yep. He may get his client a lot more money from somewhere else, but he's trying to play hard ball with Mike Brown and that ain't happenin'.

Sauce Gardner kind of broke the mold, somehow. I don’t know how the 4th pick got the best contract. Kudos to his agent.

Thanks TLL, so probably around 4yr/$11.50m I would guess.

Probably, that’s what the 32nd pick got. Probably have Dax the same contract plus a buck lol

Cap went up significantly in 2022 so I think closer to 4 year and 12.5 million

2024 may go on record as one of most underperforming teams in Bengal history. Bengal's FO has major work to do on defensive side of the ball. I say tag and trade Tee Higgins in 2025 to start with the rebuild.

I'm disappointed there's no Dax extension thread yet..  C'mon worry warts..Get proactive way too soon!  Nervous

Ha ha, either way I think Dax is going to be a major steal for his first 4 years. Crazy value especially for us and our Bates problem.

Screw worrying about if we can keep Chase and Higgins.  We gotta worry about if we can keep Dax And Bates.
