True, after hearing what Holic said about Jerry Jeudy being shopped, he seems like the perfect dude to go after.
He is still on his rookie contract, is a former 1st round pick so really talented and would stack our WR corps.

And for Joe Burrow to dig deep down in and get us through it. It's what playoff teams do. And I believe we will.
Believe the same, time to dig deep, well said BF74.

Didn't we hear this before with AJ Green back in Dalton days? LOL

Agree completely and if he can not then Bengals definitely need to move on from him in off season imo.
Think the Bengals are going to have to focus on moving the chains instead of the big splash plays for the most part now.

Yep, dink and dunk, take what they give you, mix in some medium stuff slants and back shoulder. But only a couple shots. Really would be nice to get some productive runs here and there as well.

Big difference in the QB and the level of guys behind Chase. Higgins is a potential #1 WR on several other teams in the league (just needs to stay healthy), and Boyd is a tremendous target as well.
And again, you have to believe Burrow is the guy, if he can't perform without Chase then he isn't on the elite line of QB's in the NFL. The great QBs the people that Burrow is compared to, can sling the ball to anyone and get wins.

I don't disagree. I just kind of laugh at "the upside" of the absolute star player being out.
Just the last few games has shown that Burrow is adapting and mixing his targets.
I doubt now that he'll forget about Boyd and Hurst being on the team.
Tee could be #1 on some teams but he's also working through injuries so I'm a little nervous going forward.

Agree
Have seen many people say this will help Burrow spread it around now and I agree he was locking in on Chase early.
But these last few games he was spreading it around and that's why the Bengals offense played so well imo.

2014 wasn't it....that AJ missed significant time and we still went 10-6 and limped into Indy for the playoffs?

As much as I don't want to say it... I think the Bengals lose the next few games until he returns.
While I agree that he is certainly a game changer I do believe Joe forces the ball to him quite often, sometimes resulting in bad things.
Without the internal pressure of forcing the ball to Chase, Joe should be able to become a little more efficient finding the best targets.
I would hope to think the team can win a game or two missing their best WR.

Not since game one.
Joe has progressed.
He was massively efficient last game.
Usually I'd agree if Burrow was still locking on.
He's not though.

Yep the last 2 games Chase is leading in catches but the rock is definitely being spread around
Saint- Falcons game
Chase.........15 catches
Boyd...........14 catches
Higgins........11 catches
Hurst............9 catches
Mixon...........7 catches
Seems like a nice balance of distribution of the football to me in the recent games where the Bengals have looked good.
Yet agree with others early in season that Burrow was forcing it to Chase. Felt that was one of the many reasons that the Bengals were struggling out of the gate.

Also the turnover to TD ratio since that first disastrous game is unreal for JB.
Mostly because he's not forcing it so much to Chase.

Agree this league is much too good to force it to one player successfully.

Question will be how does the offense change with no Ja'Marr Chase. The Bengals have seen alot of cover 2 zones because of Chase but without him I expect more man coverage especially press/bump and run against Tee.
Without speed on the offense the Bengals will have to win vs man and create space underneath.

I think fans may be over exaggerating this a bit. No doubt there are some forced throws but...
Burrow has targeted Chase on 24% of throws, whereas Lamar targets Andrews 35% and Stafford to Kupp is at 39%.

Both Boyd and Higgins have proven themselves to be game wreckers before so they're going to command the attention to the Browns defense. That opens up opportunities for the other receivers to slip and slide into the rolls they're paid to do..
