The "Fire Zach" stuff is WEIRD

Which I admit I'm assuming but Mixon went from what had to be the worst starting running back to the 2nd between 1st and 2nd half of the season.

One thing I do give Zac a lot of crap about is going away from the running game. He is still doing and it is just plain stupid with a
hurt QB for most of the season and now a backup QB. Letting the OL settle in and run block can help an OL more than anything.

OL like to run block, you could tell even in the stealer game they were getting close to getting on the same page and then Zac and
company just completely went away from running the ball. Don't understand this at all.

The defense stayed historically bad for 2 years too. Check out the numbers from the 2020 season finale. They're awful this year as well.
I'm gonna break every record they've got. I'm tellin' you right now. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, but it's goin' to get done.

I don’t want him fired. I want him to hire an OC. He’s a great CEO/leader of men; a subpar offensive mind.
If you see something suspicious, say something suspicious.

How exactly were you able to see that they were "getting close to getting on the same page.  All I saw as our run game being stuffed.  Mixon had a total of 4 yards on his last 5 carries.

If Taylor had not abandoned the running game and ran Mixon another 20 times for 40 yards you would be crucifying him for that also.

Absolutely. And please, please, PLEASE use more than Mixon. After seeing T.Williams mess up a few assignments when Burrow was healthy, I get why they may not trust RBs not named Mixon, but with a focus on running the ball this back end of a potentially lost season, they could simplify the offense for not only Jake, but their RB room as well. I'm ready to see if Williams, Evans, and Brown can run behind this line. If they can, that speaks to the ineffectiveness of Mixon. If they can't, then we'll know it's personnel / scheme and can make decisions on that going forward this off-season.

Exactly. And I said in my first post that people are NOT taking offense and NOT exaggerating to think that people are saying to fire him.

That is NOT happening.

McVey had a healthy Stafford, and a healthy QB is more important than all those other positions.

When McVey had to play a back up QB he got 3 points for the entire game.

I don't particularly want him gone as HC, but will he willingly take his hands off the offense and bring in someone new to be the actual OC?

I actually think the opposite.. I think he should take a greater role, we are too committee driven.. take more control not less control of the offense..

Wouldn't be surprised if Mike Brown has hired his last head coach for the Bengals. Let's say Zach has 5-7 years left in Cincy. Mike has, what, 5-7 years left... on earth? Honestly don't know which way I'd lean. If it were listed on a sportsbook it would be a Pick 'Em.

There's your morbid thought of the day lol

Maybe I just need to see Zac on Hard Knocks to become a believer... Cause damned if that scrawny nerd down in Miami doesn't come off as an amazing coach on TV.

But in 2022 Taylor was a brilliant coach taking us to the conference championship game with an offense that was passing on 62.3% of its plays (5th highest in the league).

Fans criticize play-calling based on results, not the actual calls.  A coach can call the exact same play in the exact same situation and see it praised when it works but criticized if it fails.  If a coach plays the percentages and it fails he is "too conservative", but if he tries something outside the box and it fails he is stupid for not "doing what every other coach in the league would have done" or "Getting too fancy".

I'm pretty sure there was at least 1 person saying now Zac has a contract for life when he made the superbowl and it was not in a positive light.

Take blame and give credit, yeah without Burrow, Zac is nothing.

Well he's the HC, that's up to him right? So he takes blame for not taking a greater role, or lesser role. IMO he deserves a lot of blame for how terrible the offense looks compared to how it probably should with the players on the team, even during the playoff runs. Like with Burrow and 3 top WRs you have no run game at all? Like you can't figure out how to have a run game with Mixon when teams are trying to defend your pass.

When LeBron took the trash cavs team to the finals mike brown (the cavs coach) won coach of the year, it was hilarious because it was obvious all lebron. I think a lot of credit is Burrow not Zac, are we thinking otherwise? I hope Jake Brown proves otherwise. The Browns paid a **** ton of money to their QB too and their team doesn't 100% collapse, it's funny ot think the Browns could still win the superbowl without their starting QB or starting RB and we think we might go winless the rest of the season lol. Yes it's hard to win without your best player, though.

Sean Mcvay won a superbowl and has an eidetic memory, Zac does not afaik.

That being said the Bengals are probably 7-3 and not 5-5 if Burrow was healthy and not as many people would be talking bout this even though the run game is glaringly absent.

If by "take a greater role", you mean expand the offensive game plan, then I would be all about it.

I may only agree with this because it is the only change we are likely to see and I think the committee thing is a built in excuse for Taylor as he is not the only one responsible. Do it and then no more excuses.

That is your view, i don;t share the same view but in the end it is just opinions but regardless of opinions results are not opinions and still can't take away the results this team has had under Taylor.

If Zac Taylor would stop running an offense that is directly contributing to hurting the best player this team has ever had, I would support him.

Much like Brady, JB is the one driving the team. ZT has failed to produce a running game or adequate pass protection to help Joe.

He and Frank pollack have lost my confidence and support.
That is all.

Yep. Firing Zac isn't a realistic option until he fails to make the playoffs 3 or 4 years in a row.

That won't happen with Burrow.

I remember the 6-25-1 result without Burrow or whatever horrendous start it was. So yeah Taylor is associated with Burrow's success, won't be able to separate the 2 other than that stat.
