Did Daltons team not win? 

This is the first game Ive been able to watch so far this year, and imo, it was glaring that the Bengals need major help at DT, CB and S. Not sure if this is even a playolff caliber team until at least some of that is addressed. Stop drafting Michigan players or something. Hill and Turner look bad. 

Only thing that stopped Washington was the game ending.

These off-seasons last few years have left this defense regressing quite a bit. They aren't drafting nearly good enough for a team that doesn't trade and taps free agency when they have to.

The offense is good enough for a Super Bowl run. This defense is just bad tho, and very little chance, like less than 5% chance at most they can make the playoffs now because of them.

The defense was bad no doubt tonight but Daniel's play was stellar, 21 out of 23 and the dime he dropped on TD to seal game against pressure plus his mobility and timely runs . He has yet to throw a int as a rookie, it seems the Commanders might have finally found their franchise QB

Fire all the defensive coaches and bring in new people. That’s the first thing that should happen. Then, start weeding out the players who stink.
You can’t get rid of the whole defense at once, but that would be the perfect fix. We could bring in players cut from other teams and field a better defense.

We can’t stop the run, no pressure on the QB, receivers are wide open every where on every play.

The defense has never been good, not even average in the NFL, the last 5 years, but this is ridiculous.

Without a defense, this team will never return to the playoffs or win a SB. All SB winners have a good defense, and ours is nonexistent.

The defense was the polar opposite.

But our offensive playcalling did shoot ourselves in the foot on a couple of those drives. The 1st down throw to the line of scrimmage after the possible fumble which is understandable but then we double down and do it again with time expiring in the 1st half. What's the point to try and catch them off guard? Did Washington's defense look like it needed to be caught off guard? Then some odd runs in the redzone where it just felt very predictable. I want to run more and last night we ran well but when you have to have a touchdown against they're secondary giving Burrow as many opportunities to find a guy seems like a win to me.

This is why people are saying you blamed Burrow for this loss. Because, in a game where Burrow was nearly perfect, you are talking about him no longer being a top 10 QB in the NFL (which is ridiculous), listing guys like Goff, Love, Stanford and Prescott above him.


If you want to say you were just emotionally charged last night and not thinking straight, that's one thing. But you seem to be doubling down on this absurd notion that Burrow's performance last night was an indication that he fell out of the top 10 QBs in the NFL.

Burrow isn’t the problem. Not his play or his contract. Every single QB on a second contract is getting paid top dollar and eating the cap. If you want a second contract, you’re paying roughly the same.

Problem is, and just as I said ALL off season, and was told to relax, is the defense. Since being good, we lost Bates, reader, Chido, bell (hear me out). We replaced them with stone (one year wonder in a Baltimore system that is always good), rankins (oh we don’t need to stop the run we need to tush the qb from the DT position, Dax hill (we have these young inexperienced unproven cbs that will be just fine), and a washed up Bell (yay bell is back, after being awful in Carolina and now 2 years older than when he was last here). How is that improving? We didn’t improve at LB. We tried at DE, but missed on Murphy. Hubbard is coming off an injury and getting older.

If you didn’t see this train wreck of a defense coming, then that’s on you. I saw it, I called it. However I did think this offense would overcome it. The SB defense lived off turnovers, not actually stopping the other team. Now turnovers aren’t coming and we’re exposed as a team that can’t stop the run, can’t tackle, and can barely cover.


I said the season was over after the first game of the year. I was told to relax and I’m not a bengals fan. No, I’m a realist. This team is not good, and they’re not winning a Super Bowl, making the AFC championship game, or even making the playoffs. We got a top 10 pick coming in. I wanted to tank last year after burrow went down so we could pick higher in all 7 rounds. When do we start tanking now? When do we trade Tee for something more than a 3rd round comp pick?

I wouldnt say the offense is humming. They were awful game 1, decent not good game 2, pretty good game 3. Left some points on the board. But we knew they were going to score against Washington. They don’t have that good of a defense. Neither do we. Who guessed Daniels would play better than Burrow though? Damn

They had an excellent mix especially in the 2nd half of run/pass which we haven't seen in a long time. A Burrow mistake, a bad pass, etc. simply gets magnified with this terrible defense. He's not a machine.
