Dalton was picking on CTB like he was an undrafted rookie back there.

I'm rooting for the kid, seems like a good dude. You never hear him off the field and lately he's been a CB who you don't hear anything about on the field and that's a good thing.

The same can be said about DJ Turner. The crazy thing is, I viewed DJ Ivey as our CB with the best potential last year.

Hi! How did you manage to get the images to show? I tried twice and the images were invisible after embedding.

looks like Volson is figuring things out which is good to see. I thought Mims did well, I guess not. O. Brown pass blocking is steller. Burrow is having a clean pocket for the first time as a Bengal. I thought Burrow would be in the mid to upper 80s by now. He is probably still getting his wrist back to normal. The defense is scary bad. Damn.

How many people at PFF review each game?

Is it an average of multiple opinions or is it just one person's opinion this week?

I don't see it as Dax Hill being a good defender . . . I see it as almost the entire Bengals defense playing like shit right now. If Dax Hill learned how to read an angle on a tackle and would try tackling ankles instead of hips, he probably wouldn't suck so much.

As for “trusting your eyes” it’s just virtually impossible to watch all 11 players on every play unless you’re breaking down film with All 22.

I am no scout by any means, but if I watch a game and a players does well, and looks like he did well, I would trust that over a rando PFF grade.

Not trying to grade every player, just stating the PFF grades are just another person's opinion.

Nothing more, nothing less.

I was surprised by posters who said Mims did "outstanding" last game. I didn't counter that view prior to the PFF grades being posted, because I didn't focus only on Mims. But the PFF grades back up my eye test on when I did view Mims. It has been two games in a row now where he completely whiffed on blocking his man, barely getting a touch on him at all. Last game, that resulted in Burrow scrambling for his life and throwing the interception.

Mims is a brand new rookie, without NFL experience, so I'm not concerned. But I would not label his performance "outstanding" to date and the PFF grades reflect that his pass blocking has been poor.

The interception was more on Jamarr turning the opposite direction than Burrow thought he was going than it was on Mims. And wasn't he blocking Clowney on that play? For a rookie in his 2nd game, I think he's doing an outstanding job. I already have more faith in him than I did Jonah.

Burrow was scrambling like a madman because Clowney went right by Mims as if he weren't there. It was during the wild scrambling that the interception occurred. You can pin the interception on Chase, but if the first part were not a problem (breakdown of protection), the second part (Chase and Burrow not on same page) would not have been an issue. Watch the play again: It was a complete whiff by Mims, just as he had a similar whiff in the first game he played.

I am high on Mim's potential. But posters saying he did "outstanding," as you just did, doesn't meet the eye test. Nor the PFF rating. Mims pass blocking grade was 53.3 that game, and only that high because Burrow made a magical move to avoid the sack. His overall grade this season is 49 something. To say you have more faith in him than Jonah is based on Mim's projection, which is very high, not his performance to date. Or maybe we just have different qualifications for the term "outstanding," where one beating expectations results in using the words "outstanding," such as your daughter's first-ever performance in the school play exceeding your expectations.

Have to agree with this. But he sure mauled a few in the run game.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

For his 2nd game and first start, after missing most of camp, and going against Clowney, I thought Mims did well. As did the whole O-line. No sacks. Very good running game.

I think when people say he played outstanding it's in the context of a rookie playing in his 2nd NFL game. I'm sure these same people would criticize say, Orlando Brown, if he had the exact same game and would say he had nowhere near an 'outstanding' game.

CB4: Turner: 62, 81.9

DT5: Guy: 48, 58.5
DT6: Jenkins: 47, 68.4

CB5: Newton: 11, 60.1
S3: Anthony: 9, 63.3
LB4: Bachie: 4, 33.5
S4: Battle: 2, 77.7

A lot of guys in the 3rd group are playing better on less snaps than guys playing more.

Some of it has been availability and familiarity. Some of it injury. But some of it is also mediocrity.

I am ready for Turner & Jenkins to start playing more. Murphy would also help.

Kinda odd to see Cappa on there when he's been getting a lot of flak on here...... Hmm

Chase Brown has 72 snaps and is included on Goodberry's list, but Turner, with 64 is not.

I mean, I guess you gotta cut it off somewhere, but I do not see a meaninful difference there. Though Brown is consistently RB2 while almost all of Turner's snaps (over 50) came last week.

Point being, guys like Turner, ADG, and Jenkins have all been pretty good to very good on limited snaps.
