The Jets just fired their head coach and Saleh is an excellent DC. Bengals should be aggressive for once and fire Lou and get him. I’d like to see this FO show they are serious about winning a SB.

You can't install a new scheme/system 5 games into a year, especially when you can't sign your guys or draft them, etc.
Au mentioned to bring him in as a consultant/assistant and that I agree with 100%, but not as a full-out DC, I'd trust Bettcher over him at this point in the season.

But, think about this, he'd have all season long to experiment. Try things he would never actually try because everyone knows this isn't his scheme nor players.
If nothing else, getting rid of Lou should at least show players that their jobs are potentially on the line.

How is he not? I like Lou, but the defense was pretty bad last year and it looks to be even worse this year. At this point, I'd fire him just for the chance that a change of coordinators would spark improvement in the play of the defense.

Lou’s influence on defensive draft and free agent pieces is on him and Doug, Poor handling of our key free agents by our ownership owns part of it as well, But I’ve always maintained good coaches don’t flip flop on their ability to coach. Now he could have missed on a few players
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

No coaching change is going to suddenly be able to have our DTs consistently winning their battles at the LOS. That is a personnel issue, and right now they don't have the correct personnel for the job. Perhaps in time Jenkins and Jackson will develop into those guys, but right now the Bengals are screwed. BJ Hill can only do so much on his own.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

I mentioned bringing Saleh is as a defensive consultant for the rest of the year. While we aren't going to get wholesale changes there are differences in philosophy in how you can rush, how you play situations, how you teach pieces of technique that could all add some value.

I could get on board with a guy like Saleh being brought in as a consultant. I'm just not for radical coaching changes in mid-season. Even with all of the points given up on Sunday, the defense never once had the appearance of "quit" in them, even after Hill went down they still worked hard every play. I will say that the combo of BJ Hill and Jenkins up front does show a little promise, let's hope that they can build upon that and salvage something of the season.

The Bengals offense are 2nd in the league in points per drive and also 2nd in the league in EPA per play and Burrow is playing lights out, top QB in league. So how many teams in the history have been this good offensively and only have one win?
Nobody except us this year....
This defense is so bad that one or two players arent going to move the bar to change things. It's a complete wreck. To stay status quo and think things will change when Rankins is back and Murphy gets a few weeks in him is ridiculous.

It's what Vrabel is doing in Cleveland and I just think another set of eyes couldn't hurt. Even if it's in how we design blitz packages or something. They may not be quitting but they aren't successful and we need to try something new.

You don’t think Joe Burrow is Brady-esque?
