You say he can fix those things, but the start of the season has been an issue for 6 years now. Last offseason he even talked about it and said he was going to be different, but then he wasn't and they weren't. That's where Paul and Mike Brown differ. Paul knew that a football team needed to fundamentally sound, and be able to move the ball on the ground. Mike on the other hand, is infatuated with the excitement generated by talented perimeter position players. I really feel like Katie needs to step up and bring the team back to Grandpa's way of doing things.

I often wonder if Mike simply equates talented perimeter position player + the QB as money made for him.

As long as the tickets sell out, I guess that he'd have reason to feel that way. However, until he invests better in fundamental positions, the Lombardi will continue to elude him.

I will grant you this... His draft position really doesn't matter anymore because he's on his second contract, and he's a great blocking TE. Having said that; they never got anything more than that from him, passed up on much greater players, and he just is what he is, and he's not really improved in other aspects of the game.

Exactly, many of us had hoped that he'd blossom into a greater part of the offense, but unfortunately he's reached his ceiling. Sad that he was chosen in the 2nd round, but it is what it is at this point.

I find the comments interesting and thought about how they might apply to the Bengals if Zac were getting replaced. Would Johnson even interview with the Bengals?

2) Would Bengals ownership and leadership demonstrate an ability to recognize and communicate what has gone wrong with a willingness to fix it?

Was thinking tonight about Bill B. I wish we knew if this franchise reached out to him. This Bengals team seems like the perfect fit for Bill, and as close as he could ever come to coach a QB with Brady like potential. As well as a defense that drastically needs his touch.

The more I think about it, the more I think he was intimidated by the HC opportunity here. I doubt a HC job was even offered, maybe DC of course. Anyway, if he couldn’t win here either his legacy would feel tainted. Sure I could be completely wrong. Would have been cool to have him for a DC.

Anyone know if Bill took the UNC job since his girlfriend goes there? J/k I have no idea which college she attends.

Bill wanted to go where he could make all the decisions. That wasn't happening here.

The answer to that would be a definitive no. 

I would feel completely comfortable wagering every single tangible thing i own that the Bengals did not, through any available channel--not only not reach out--but didn't even remotely consider BB as the "next HC" of the Bengals. He would not go anywhere without full and absolute complete control of the franchise he was joining. There's no way in hell or earth the Bengals would agree to that. Not even remotely possible. 

Anyone thinking there was even the slightest chance of BB coming here--and i didn't want him here ftr--apparently don't seem to know the first thing about how this family operates.
