Bengals fire Lou Anarumo, Frank Pollack, James Bettcher and Marion Hobby
(01-08-2025, 11:07 AM)ERIC1 Wrote: dude...if Pollack had that offensive line,,he would have been given a 5 year extension ..not get fired..not one Bengals player would be starting on Detroit's line and that includes Mims and Brown..our OL  looks like an eighth grade  highschool line compared to detroit..This was the first time I watched a Detroit game in its entirety..Ill take it even further..Detroits offensive line looks like a group of battleships plowing through some 40 ft long luxury yachts..Our line looks like a bunch of old arthritic senior citizens with multiple injuries

Eh don't call me dude.  Mellow  Pollack got fired from the Cowboys when he inherited one of the best OL's in the NFL.

Sure, the Lions OL is more talented than the Bengals OL, but coaching is what puts them over the top. Fraley has always been a top OL coach.

Mims is extremely talented, the Lions don't need him though as they have Sewell at RT. I wanted Ragnow back in the day.

These are 2 great, polished OL for Fraley to work with and the rest of the guys have been coached up along with them to be this badass line
you are watching. They don't all just get drafted and become this elite OL you are watching. This is crazy talk to act like the players just come
into the NFL and become great all on their own.

I agree Ragnow and Sewell are very good but how much is raw talent and how much is coaching? im for the belief a good coach finds what works best for his players and builds off that. Not a system guy who doesnt change or adapt

It is both talent and coaching. To think it is just talent is completely ignorant to football. Some of the most talented players flare out in
the NFL all the time. You have to be smart and be able to be coached up on top of talent.

Our O-line has strength, but yeah, they are very lacking in athleticism besides Mims. Technique is also where our OL is very lacking.

This is on coaching.

Also, why is William Jackson 'a loser human being'?  You seem to have some anger issues.

I see, you don't want to debate, so you condescend and then belittle: you're one of those.

WJax has burnt all his bridges in the NFL with his mouth and attitude, that's pretty loserish behaviour.

Ordinarily I'd be more forgiving of Lou but this season where it took him 12 games to realize his players were not getting his system and adjusting the system turned me off - that is 100% a coaching failure.

On the OL we have three good starters right now (LT, RT, C), we lack Guards. Whoever the new OL coach will be needs to make sure the blocking scheme is compatible with the rest of the offense. If we get the right Guards we are in business.

1. Please find where someone has laid out clear, concise thoughts and rebuttals and where I shut them down with no argument and just made fun of them.

Hint: you won't be able to.  But since you are...

2. ... the king of moving goalposts and finding reasons X, Y, Z to, "prove," (in quotes because it doesn't prove anything) points A, B, and C, you'd probably spin something BS to try and prove your point like you always do.

Truck your rep speaks for itself. Try not to condescend and belittle as you argue you aren't "one of them".

Embrace who you are. We all know your style.

Don't you have posts to "thumbs down"?

My last hope if Saleh isn't on the radar.

Eagles DB coach would be a good hire. He's just young.

Do they want a DC with experience or are they not looking for one with prior experience? I guess that is what I would like to know, but they won't let Duke clear anything up.

Yeah, the Bengals just said neither Saleh or Dennis Allen will be interviewed which is stupid as hell. Sure I wanted Eberflus the most of any
one of these guys any ways I just don't like closing your minds to proven DC's. Is that Christian Parker the assistant on the Eagles? All I know
is the Secondary of the Eagles was damn good this year especially with having such youth on it, all be it very talented youth.

About the only Corners that shut down Ja'Marr this year were the Eagles.

They’re doing a purge on the defensive side of the ball so a new DC can install their own team - as they should.

Anybody know what kind of relationship, if any, Zac and Eberflus have? I would think Matt would jump at this opportunity. All he has to do is field an above average Defense and Burrow will take this team back to the Super Bowl, which is a fast track to him getting another HC job.

I would bet Matt wants to bring some of his discarded guys that he feels somewhat responsible to and Zac clearing the way.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Sorry for calling you dude...aside from that..and even though coaching is important...when it comes to our iffensive line..they simply are not very good..and that includes our LT and Ill give Mims the benefit if the doubt at this point in his career..maybe he will be ok..lets hope so

These personnel decisions have nothing to do with Matt Eberflus or any other DC candidate

Final decision no, but I would think if they hire a new DC they would listen to who he wants to bring as position coaches. If you remember, Zim thought he was taking Paulie to Minnesota with him to be his DC, until MB offered him Zim's job here.

Does is it really matter? I mean, can a HC observe another coaches style without having previously been connected to them, and know that they might be a great fit for what the team wants to do?
