If the lose Tee, then all they need to do is sign DeAndre Hopkins as our #2

I haven't been to too many games and I've only gone to one training camp day. But it was the one where we signed TO after Antonio Bryant left practice in the morning and TO was there for the afternoon practice.

How about, no????? Hopkins is washed, he needs to retire. Maybe look at a younger guy like Darius Slayton, who's been on a crappy team with a questionable QB for his entire, short NFL career? That dude would absolutely flourish with Joey B throwing him the ball and none of the Jermaine Burton drama, either.

Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Please find me some receivers who leveled up due to QB play. It doesn’t really happen. People mention that you get more out of players when they play with the a better QB… it’s really really hard to find those examples, especially when they are in that Darius Slayton mold. You might get a 10% bump, but expecting more is fools gold.

Amari cooper (better than Slayton over his career)… was a 1,100 yard guy with Oakland, Dallas and Cleveland regardless of QB situation.

Brandin cooks (also better), was an 1,100 yard guy with NO, NE, LAR and Houston… irregardless of QB.

Mohamed Sanu went from dalton to HOF Matt Ryan.

56-790-5
66-838-4

One is the best season with dalton, the other one is with Matt Ryan. Now, dalton is better than Daniel Jones, but I think the point is relevant. It’s like this with 95%+ of FA WRs

There are likely exceptions… but normally you are what you are.

As of two hours ago, Bleacher Report is predicting that we trade Higgins to the Patriots for draft picks, which I wouldn't mind.

The draft isn't strong at receiver and the Pats desperately need a receiver, so trade Higgins for draft picks, shore up our DL and defensive backfield, draft one of the big tight ends, and sign a free agent receiver as a stop-gap until we can draft a quality one or sign a better one in free agency. Slayton would be a nice option, as would a few other guys, and there's always cuts after the draft and in the offseason.

Hopefully we can pull off the trade with the Patriots.

I was curious as well Nate…Top Google result:

THON is an acronym for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. It's a student-run organization that raises money and awareness for childhood cancer research

That said, I’m pretty sure this isn’t it.

Let's just hope that they're trying to lower the price tag we'd pay for him by making it seem like there's better options out there............

Yeah... I don't get the infatuation with Darius Slayton. He's better than anybody on our roster south of Tee Higgins, but he's in no way a suitable replacement for Tee. May as well just roll with Yoshi at WR 2 and get that third year bounce. Either way our offense gets worse.

Yea, agree. I did find one example after posting this, there still are likely others. Emmanuel Sanders going from Pitt to Denver (manning). So it’s possible, but it’s the exception and not the rule, kind of like finding a Brady/Purdy in the seventh round.

One thing to note about Sanders going to Denver, he had ridiculous target share that he previously didn’t see in Pitt… but he did it.

You can go look at almost (emphasis on almost) every FA WR over the last half dozen years and it would be hard to find a successful story where they outpaced previous career production, by any significant margin.

He also wasn't a slouch in Pittsburgh. It seems like that was more about opportunity. Wasn't he on the AB and Mike Wallace teams? There's been nobody in Slayton 's way.
