Boycott This Team

Luckily, if the season goes to poop, baseball goes right to October (or into if we're lucky), and hockey starts in October, so there will be other sports to watch.
Plus, Fall is always great for doing things outside and around the house :)
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I've seen 1 truth happen 3 times. Directly after paying the QB the Bengals run their roster into the ground. They did it with Carson, Dalton, and now Burrow.

This roster is not run into the ground. Yes, the defense needs help, and they're getting it. This offense can put the points up to beat anyone. No need to make things appear worse than they are.

There are 31 other teams to support. There are other sports. If it makes you unhappy, then quit watching. Personally, I like it when they win, but this is my hometown team that I have supported since 1968. And this is one of my favorite groups of players from all that time. No way I'm boycotting anything.

Some people fan differently than others and have a different satisfaction quotient (maybe less than a superbowl is starting to make them unhappy, or does). Whether another fan watches or not has no effect on whether I watch, it shouldn't affect you either, everyone has their reasons.

I personally do not equate being happier with losing, even though we have basically no control over the sports we watch.

I can imagine season ticket holders or even a ticket holder in general has more invested than me who barely goes to any of the games.

From a 50,000ft view, it's hard to be a fan of a loser, for whatever reason you became a fan in the first place.

Is someone holding you hostage? Type three question marks if you need help! You have TOTAL control over the sports you watch. You can change the channel, or turn off the tv. This hostage mindset it ridiculous.

Not that, we don't have control over the outcome. Left a word out. We have very little control over whether they win or lose. If you don't care if they win, then it also may not matter if they lose, at that point what's the point I would say - but I don't judge why someone else watches games lol. I bet half the reason people watch baseball is because they like to sit in the sun lol.

The bengals have basically forced many of us to enjoy the "well they played well" but lost and try to find enjoyment out of that lol.

I do think many fans believe their teams at the beginning of the season have a chance to win the superbowl, somehow. Clevelanders seem to say it every year lol.

I see what you meant. And we are in agreement, if you don't want to watch, don't. If you do, then do. I don't judge anyone who chooses not to watch or watch. I do judge those who seem miserable and want everyone else to quit watching too. Personally, I want them to win. I love it when they win. I'm sad when they lose, for about 10 minutes then I go on with my day because at the end of the day it is professional sports and has no  bearing on my life one way or the other. I guess if one's chosen sports team is where they get their self-actualization from (think typical Stealers fan), then I guess a loss ruins their whole week at the water cooler.

What's funny is although the Bengals have missed the playoffs for the last two years, in every, and I mean EVERY conversation I hear on NFL radio, or other sports channels about which teams are Super Bowl competitors, the Bengals are always in the conversation. Only on the message boards is this team a disaster.

National media will take the lazy approach and latch on to the Bengals as contenders because of Burrow and Zac being a head coach who has won an AFC title. Even then, plenty of national media are critical about the Bengals and don't view them as Super Bowl contenders. They aren't going to know the ins-and-outs of the organization like the local media do. Local media in Cincinnati are never going to go the route of big media in NY or Philadelphia and overly be critical because they know the organization will shut them out from doing their job. It's definitely not "only" a message board occurrence.

Don't come back in a few weeks, months, or even during the season if you're saying you're jumping

Reading comprehension is important. Never once did I say jumping ship as a fan, I said stop supporting them financially. Beyond that, u don’t get to be the gatekeeper of when a fan can come and go. That’s weird.

Same. No point in it. It doesn't help anything, I actually believe whining and misery only hurts.

I believe in positivity helping as crazy as that might sound. It sure doesn't hurt. Sending positive vibes around this joint is my job.

Crying seems to be others, to each their own.

Not only do we STILL not have one of the big 3 signed, we have not improved the team one bit in free agency. A team with a top 2 qb who missed the playoffs last year. Watching as quality contributors get signed one by one to reasonable deals while we sit on our hands. I am done spending anything on this team. I hope many of you will join me. They do not deserve our financial support. If they don't want to get with the times and do what is necessary to compete than they need to sell the ******* team!

Overreact much?

Agree as they usually talk about the playoff teams or, rather, teams playing better wanting nothing to do with the Bengals. That's a testament to the greatness of Joe Burrow.

The Cartesian principle of rationalism and deductive reasoning; hence free will, does not apply to me as a Bengal fan. So I'll play the hand I am dealt.

I would say that it also applies to most Bengal fans as well, but given recent emotionally charged posts I have seen the past few days, I won't.

Cartesianism is faith-based. Which is perfect for bungles fans. We have to have faith that something is guiding this ship, because there are no corporeal limbs controlling it. But even Descartes would consider jumping ship eventually.

How much more do you need to see dude? Is it not plainly obvious to you that since they paid Burrow they are not willing to do what is necessary to put together another Super Bowl team. As someone else pointed out this is a theme now. After paying their qb they run the team into the ground with their stubborn nonsense. Watch the way perennial contenders do things and then watch us. I truly don’t understand fans who act like this is okay. I guess some of us just expect more out of billionaires who take so much more than they give to a city that deserves so much more. Them asking for more money from the city is the icing on the cake. And yet Paycor will be sold out every game this year. Because around here our bar is so low we just allow ourselves to be used up like a rag doll.

Descartes would turn over in his grave if he heard his principle of reasoning is associated with faith. But that is between you and the dead guy.

You lost me at bungles, Sir!

Cartesianism is rooted in a belief in God. And they are the bungles. But that’s between you and the almost-dead guy (MB).

We are talked about as contenders because of Burrow and the Big 3 or really Burrow and Chase. Take those two guys off the roster and we are the worst team in the league. That's what's frustrating to me and I'm sure others. We have the legitimate chance to win a superbowl if we just try and add before the draft. We need to increase the pass rush or add to the oline. It's too late for the pass rush but it there is still time to add guards. But we are sitting on our hands and letting the chance for a superbowl slip away.
