I can see them drafting a safety.
Seems they have a visit lined up with Nick Emmanwori so they are at least thinking about it.

Probably going to be Battle and Stone as starters. They'll probably only either sign a backup vet after the draft or a draft a late pick backup.
That's shaky at best, unfortunately. I like Battle in the run game but not so much in coverage. Stone scares the shit out of me too!
I do like the young CBs though and let's not forget that Dax was drafted a Safety. Different DC may have a different opinion of where he fits best.

I agree, safety is not our strength. Sunset loves Nick Emmanwori. He may be a great pick at #17.
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I think I'd tell him to put on 5-10 pounds and just play LB for us.

Our safety situation is a major red flag. Reminds me of 2023 when they forced a bad situation on us and we all knew they weren’t ready to fill bell and bates. And somehow the Defense got worse in 2024.
Missing out on the FA safety class was a misstep. Forcing the drafting of one early.
Watts is the day 2 pick. We need a starting caliber safety.

Dax to me had a noticeable improvement in play when he finally moved to the slot. Unfortunately we got a very limited look at him in that position before he was injured.

I agree! Just pointing out that his switching back to S isn't out of the realm of possibility if needed.

Have you watched him in deep coverage? He is fluid and athletic, he don't need any more mass. However, if the team had true press-man CBs that could do the job, he would be a monster in the box. He actually grades about 12 points higher in coverage than versus the run though.
Volson is meh, but I like him, and he has far exceeded my expectations

Should of signed Just Reid for his price.

I will have to watch that game again and check that out. I didn't see this initially, if so, we shouldn't want players on our team that don't go
all out all the time no matter the circumstances. I stand by what I said, that we should trade Pratt and see what we can get. He has been a
good LB in the past and could get us another pick when we only have 6 this Draft.
Germaine wanted to be traded. Players on the team that don't want to be here is not a good thing.
Plus, he has times where he would rather strip the ball out than tackle. That is great if it works, bad if it doesn't and Golden likes different
LB's in his system, not stack LB's like Pratt who refuse to tackle or cover well.

Hendrickson asked for a trade last year. He played pretty well.
I think if a Day 1 starting caliber LB falls into our laps in the draft (Walker, Campbell), then he gets traded. If not, then not.

Trey came back and said all the right things as well and he is the type of player you do not trade unless there is somewhat of a player
that can replicate what he does. Trey is arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL, you cannot replicate that. With Pratt asking for a trade
while being paid big bucks, this is way different in my eyes.
We brought in Oren Burks who played great on the Eagles last year and he can cover and most importantly, tackle.
I just don't think Pratt fits Golden's system and that is why he asked for a trade. We will see, I am expecting us to Draft a pass rushing
LB that can play the Viper position in Golden's scheme.

He is 31 years old and had a bad year this past season. Im not sure he helps this defense at this point in his career.

First round safety, holmes.

I’m expecting golden feels he can get more, maybe way more in some cases, out of the current defense. It’s a 2 year plan. Als job is to squeeze as much as he can this year. Then we will know who does or doesn’t fit in his system and invest/restructure next year.

Sounds good to me, I just hope it doesn't take too long and our Defense doesn't cost us a shot at the Playoffs like last year.

His combine numbers, with a 9.95 RAS, were impressive.
I really like his film and the number of things he can do.

I want him on this team really bad. I'm just afraid they won't prioritize an LB at 17, or the first round in general.
