Chido would have been a nice signing. Especially for vet minimum. He flashed in coverage when Bengals played Tennessee.

Yep. We can kick dirt on this thread. Happily.

You don't think they would still take a talented QB to learn behind Russ? Seems like Shedeur would be the perfect QB to learn behind him.
They have signed Winston and Wilson. I guess they could carry 3. But I think they either stay put and take Carter/Hunter or try to trade down with a QB hungry team for more picks.
2 FA QBs and a QB at 3 seems like overkill..

This can go all the way up to day 1 of the draft. Once GM’s of playoff teams get a good read on whose eyeing who and realize sending their first to CINCI for Trey is the best player they can get. Especially if they believe they are a pass rusher away.
Bengals are playing this perfectly spooking those who think they’ll cave for an 3rd eventually into believe there’s a chance they’ll extend him and they’ll lose out.

But this would not preclude them taking a QB. We saw Kirk get a LOT more last year and a team still drafted a QB.
Sanders isn’t a day one starter and that’s ok.
Maybe. But my feeling is Cleveland takes Carter or Hunter. I certainly would.
I think it more likely NY has decided Tenn are taking Ward and Sanders isn't their guy. The GM is fighting to keep his job. Hence, Winston (2 year deal) + Wilson (1 year). Try and be competitive this year and amass assets to make a QB move next.
Hard to see them as anything but 4th in their division,,matlyne 3rd if Dallas implodes.

No. A trade was never likely and is now off the table. No games or smokescreens. No Trey trade.

I’d definitely bet no trade but theoretically it’s still too early to just take it off the table. There’s no reason for them to right now.
Not until they have a deal.

I think Bengals have been candid. I think other teams hoped Bengals would cave, but not going to happen.
It is like playing texas holdem when a player makes a huge raise pre-flop, look down at you have ace/ace so you just call. Then flop comes and the guy bluffing pre-flop throws all his chips in the pot on the ace, 9, 6 flop and the dude is drawing dead.
Bengals hold the cards, not another team or Trey. Bengals are not over playing their hand, they have no intent on trading Trey.

I don't think Giants are going QB. They also signed Winston last week.

Also, Giants likely out on a QB at #3. NE is not taking one at #4, nor Jax at #5.
Sanders to Raiders at #6 looks likely, which means Jeanty oikely drops some.
Ward, Carter/Hunter, Graham + one of the OTs, plus Sanders look like the top 6.
One blue chipper for sure out of the top 10. I out Jeanty, Warren, Walker, the other OT of Campbell/Membou, and W. Johnson as the next best.
I doubt any make it to #17. We'd need 5 picks from outside that group. Stewart? M. Williams? Barron? A WR or two. Loveland? Green? One of the DTs? Booker?
Yes, Rodgers may be headed to the Steelers, but my guess is he won't play for peanuts. He may wait for a team to suffer an injury and really need his services.

I wouldn’t say they are overplaying their hand. I think they are playing it perfectly. I actually have no problem with how they’ve managed this Trey situation.

I think Trey's agent overplayed their hand, Bengals have played it well as you said.

Hate to lose him but knew this was going to happen. Best of luck to Trey and his young family!

Most teams have no cap space left...and if they wanted him, they would have got him by now.

I could see Shemar Stewart or Mike Green being the pick because of this.
Emmanwori we met with, this is who I am leaning towards more and more. Stud Safety can really help an entire Defense as we have seen with
the Ravens over the years. Emmanwori could be Sean Taylor 2.0.
This is what I'm thinking recently. If Campbell has shoulder issues (especially both shoulders), Emmanwori makes sense. BTW, it is disgusting that so many LBs are diagnosed with Labrum tears at the combine. The Cortisone shot culture in College Football is criminal.
Nonetheless, unless a Will Johnson falls to us, it may be Emmanwori. I don't see another safety worthy of picking in round 1. But we can get a second round CB or S.
However; after Campbell, I don't see another three down LB worthy of a first or even a second rounder.
So the choice I do keep coming back to is Campbell.

Actually quite a few incuding Pats have cap space. 16 teams have over 28 million.

Emmanwori keeps climbing on boards and may not be there at 17. If he is Ihope we sprint to the podium. I am not a fan of drafting an injured LB, I would much rather do Green, Pierce or and edger rusher that falls to us than a LB. The UCLA LBer probably be there at 49, but he is also a 3 down LB. I think a healthy Wilson and a efocused Pratt are good Lbers.

Yeah Emmanwori is so unique I think he's gone. I've gravitated toward best DL in 1st usually turning up BPA..then Golden gets Watts at S in the 2nd, especially if G isn't BPA. Seemless transition and good ball skills at a position that could use stability.
