{The Ultimate Bengals Offseason Extravaganza Thread}
Not saying I'd do it, because the needs elsewhere are too significant, but I've just recently seen Omarion Hampton's highlights. That dude is just plain physical.

It's not their way, but imagine a punishing, physical back lining up in an offense like this version of the Bengals. Everyone accounting for Tee, Jam'arr and Joe and getting bulldozed with light boxes. Want to load up for the run? Go ahead, we dare you.

You might get Fulcher 2.0 in later rounds with Winston Jr.

Ja'Marr's agent seems pretty big time after getting both deals done to me, more so than the ones that couldn't get their clients their money.

Lol, that doesn't mean the agent was the problem in that scenario, Nate. It just means Chase used his leverage (with the assistance of public pressure from Burrow, plus the media making fun of the Bengals as long as they didn't get the Chase deal done) to strongarm the Bengals FO into a both-or-neither deal (for better or worse, we'll see). He got deals done with plenty of other teams. When seemingly every other agent in existence  is "the problem" when it comes to dealing with the Bengals FO, perhaps, just maybe, it's the one consistent that's the problem.

Basically, he said he's a 1 trick pony, unlike the other EDs and LBs that rush the passer.

Even if so, it's no denying Hendrickson's run defense is (far) behind his pass rushing ability.
Rushing the passer pays well more than stopping the run.
But as I said, Hendrickson's run defense is ok.
What doesn't make sense though is saying he never disengages from his guy.
You do have to disengage sometimes (often?) when rushing the passer too lol.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

The mocks I have been playing around have Warren gone in top 10 and now Loveland at times in top 15.

MY top pick is safety Nick. E. from SC who may or may not be available at #17. If not him, I think if we can't trade back, we need to take an edge. I think Green will be the best available, if not the kid from Tenn. who may drop or Walker is available at times.

I like Grant, but we drafted 2 DT's in 20224 an signed 2 DT's already in 2025. Yes, we need a pass rushing or complete DT, but not sure one is guaranteed other than Graham and he will go in top 6 or 7 at worst.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Yep. That's my whole point. And not only that, but his other numbers are not too far off the other top EDs...short of Watt of course. Cause he's a freak.

I recently viewed a mock that has us taking Green. Can't remember which outlet.

The fans are the ones that financially support the teams and NFL.   Using Deshaun Watson as an example again, the Cleveland fans were stuck having to support that type of QB play year after year.    Imagine if it were the Bengals that gave Watson a huge guaranteed contract.  Would that be good for Bengals fans especially when their tax dollars pay for the stadium plus all the other money the NFL and the teams generate because of those very fans.  Fully guaranteed contracts like MLB are just a bad idea.

So, whatever the player asks for, the FO should just give it to them?

That's clearly the only logical conclusion you can come to from what I said. Nailed it in one, there's no such thing as middleground, only the two extremes.   Hilarious

Poor contract decisions happen with teams all the time.
It may be bad for CLE, but it's not bad for the fans of 31 other teams.
Any team should have to go through down times if they make poor contract decisions, even today.

What I am specifically getting at is fully guaranteed contracts would (or should) reduce the amount of talent a single team can have unless they draft well or can find value FAs. They wouldn't be able to sign a plethora of expensive veterans who stack the team, thus resulting in some of those guys signing elsewhere, causing more parity in the league.

The big reason baseball suffers is because of no salary cap. Those wealthy teams like the Yankees and Dodgers are happy to pay the luxury tax because it's basically a joke.
If there was a baseball salary cap, I guarantee either we'd see smaller contracts for the mega stars, but also not always see teams like the Dodgers and Yankees in the postseason.

I want to see the small market teams far more often than they typically happen.

I've said it before... while Chase and his agent said it was a both or neither deal publicly, if the Bengals had not wanted to sign Tee there is simply no way Chase would have walked away from signing his deal, which made him the highest paid non-QB in the league. None, zilch, nada chance. And Mulugheta or whatever his name is, is a known difficult agent. If Trey wants a new deal, he should probably have hired Rocky as well. Either way, the Bengals will reach an agreement with him on an extension. I have zero doubt about that.

I think so as well. Still, TLL has a good point about the Bengals being one of the teams that that guy cannot deal with.

He deals with other teams.

But it was a good move by Tee firing his ass and going with Ja'Marr's agent clearly. Got him paid well to stay on his team and hopefully win a SB.

Hampton is damn good alright. So many great RB's in this Draft. It would be a shame to not take one IMO.

Yep, Trey is a great hand fighting End. That is why he is like the one End in the NFL that does not wear gloves.

Very good at disengaging from the LT, he is just not the best run stopping End, like say Maxx Crosby is who also plays tons of snaps because of it.

I don't know this for a fact, but I read on here somewhere that Mulu's players almost never sign back with the team they are on.

He has 17 clients with $15m+ AAV spanning 14 different teams. 4 of the top 5 paid all signed at least 1 extension with the team that drafted them.
