Sure they are, but not as often as message board fans. Personally, I hope for the best and wait and see....

Honestly, this thread is becoming exactly what the mods warned about. People better start toning down the hostility or the hammer's going to come down.

If only more people did this...
I'm the same way, regardless of my hate for the word "hope". That's where a lot of the disappointment comes from; taking a hope guy instead of a guy that's put more production on film.
My other problem is the crazy hype and claims that just don't show up on film--mostly against good competition. That's where my push back comes from.

Yeah, I hope the guys doing the drafting have more than hope, but we as fans who have no say, can only hope. I'm not proclaiming him the best end since sliced bread, but I'm also not ready to call him a bust before his first snap (and I know you haven't either)

Bengals fans - Myles Murphy is a total bust, we are terrible at evaluating defensive talent in the Draft and developing it.
Also Bengals fans - Man, the Bengals nailed the Shemar Stewart pick; they know something everyone else doesn't. Even tho he had essentially 1 sack/year in College over 3 years, these Bengals coaches are going to coach him and make him Myles Garrett. Just watch.

The FO and Stewart need to show urgency and this deal done. Stop wasting time!

I know you have major questions on the Stewart pick. So, who is the player you draft in round 1 versus him? I like Stewart, so we can compare the careers of the 2 after a few years (if I am still alive...LOL)
Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

I don't know. I didn't follow along as close as i usually do to make an informed decision. I just know, after watching him extensively, i'm not a big fan of SS.
You could say my enthusiasm needs a bit of a recharge, so we'll see how the season starts and if that happens.

I think the difference for folks is...

Mims was at the rookie Minicamp last year.
Meanwhile both our 1st and 2nd round picks this year sat out.

No Trey or Shemar. Obviously, it's still early.
Let's hope for positive so we can have pass rushers.

Knight has been practicing. He sat out like one practice.

Yes, the difference is Mims and other 1st rounders practiced.

I agree with this. Just media using it as a chance to take another cheap shot at the Bengals.
I've no great love for our FO but after the money they've given to Burrow, Chase, and Higgins for media to say Stewart isn't signed because they're cheap is laughable (at least those stories I've read about it).
Being cautious with Hendrickson only makes sense as well.

You think the media is unfair to the Bengals? Lol

We have plenty of problems but a lot of the old tropes that some continue to trot out there are tired and no longer apply. Just an opinion.
