Yes it does. The clause in the contract isn’t what you think. It doesn’t include simple violations. Your words. The NFLPA would never allow it. The contract would never be approved on a rookie one. So it has everything to do with what you are talking about. Guess again.

I was told this long ago by someone that absolutely would know.

You have no idea what I think it is, so park that idea. "Does not include simple violations" is subjective, as a former Raider, now disagrees what is or is not a enough to void "guaranteed" money. For separate example, missing weight and killing someone are far different things, but where the redline for "simple" my lie for one person may differ from another, say a player than ownership. The "but other teams" or "this agent" still didn't get change get pen to paper until this week.

You said simple violations. It’s not. End of story go away and hide

It wasn't really about the default language. It was about it being new to the Bengals and the fact they didn't want to give any concession (more of the signing bonus at time of signing) to Stewart. It's over and done but I don't think the agent was being out of the norm in the request. From reports this language was initially in Mims contract and possibly Murphy's only to be removed in negotiations so clearly other agents didn't like it either.

Shemar intimated today he told his agent to get it done he needs on the field. They caved. It was always about the default language. The other 31 teams have it exactly. They had no grounds. Hiller said so day 1 as did the Bengals and my source.

Lol, no this is entirely separate from agents and players and owners and purely more why the hell is Russo talking football and WTF does he know? I just had a really weird moment where I was like "where the hell do I know him from?" when I was watching that video because my brain has him so segmented off to baseball that seeing him talk football was just confusing.
It's like if next year we saw Dave Lapham on an ESPN show talking about what's the norm in the details of NBA contracts and giving opinion on NBA insider topics and immediately someone watched that and was like "well if known NBA expert Dave Lapham says so, I should automatically assume it's true".

Hiller being my source as well said they wanted a concession in the form of more of the signing bonus at the time of signing to accept being the 1st Bengal draftee to have the default language. I assume they did cave at the end and accepted the 500k concession because I really hope that's not what the Bengals were fighting over.

This is exactly what I was saying. It wasn't so much the default language itself but the fact they didn't want to give any concession to change the precedent. I think both sides were at fault for the length of the holdout. But it's over now and he's in camp so that's good and they can move past it.

Not really they fought the default clause all the way. It wasn’t about a 500k token of good faith. Seriously man I’ve got a great source on this plus DMed a top local media guy to confirm. Had Hiller only wanted 500k it would have happened a long time ago. They didn’t get 500k more just sooner by 4 months. Think through this.

I heard from a source that talked to Hiller and read a quoted interview with Hiller. It read very similar to that tweet. The default language was a new precedent for the Bengals and they wanted a concession from them to accept the language. He alluded to a change in the timing of the payout of the signing bonus.
Im sure they wanted more than 500k. Did they want 100% at signing? I'm not sure but the Bengals did 50% at signing 50% in Dec for Mims. So the fact that they finally took 500k and said okay makes me wonder if they could've ended it sooner with a change in the payout 60/40 perhaps. But my point is the concession for the language not the language itself is what I had heard for over a month and the fact that's what they did makes it seem accurate. Like I said Im sure it was more than 500k because that would make the Bengals look terrible and ill give them the benefit of doubt.

Hiller isn’t reliable. Look at his portfolio. Listen to Mike Brown. When asked it was obvious he was befuddled over the whole deal. Trust me if had been just 500k even before mini camp they’d done it. Hiller was trying to make a name for himself. His clients are making peanuts. It’s awful. He’s a nobody. I was told it was all about getting his name tweeted by Schefter, Pelissero, Rapoport, and the like and drag it out. Get through the weeds

I dont think it was over 500k. What was the signing bonus 10mil? So if they wanted it all at once than that's 5mil now instead of in Dec. Thats speculation on my part but he said the timing of the signing bonus payout would be a concession to get him to sign we just don't know the percent. I also said its both of theyre fault it took this long. Its over now so who cares. Now the language is the precedent and it shouldn't be an issue moving forward.

I don’t know what to tell you man. Zay Flowers was wanting an extension and the Ravens allegedly told him to dump Hiller or forget it and he did. You can’t believe anything he says. The rookie slot was 10.4 million signing bonus for Stewart. It’s slotted by the NFL. It’s not a number the Bengals create. It was right in line percentage wise as the rest. Yes some pay it all and some 1/2 & 1/2. But they wanted the default gone. They mentioned Mims time and time again and again and even Murphy. But the Bengals adopted what all the teams did. Hiller got dumped by Zay Flowers and is scrambling. He wanted his name on Twitter to make a name for himself. Surely you can see that.
