We were 4-1 before injuries last year. So unless this team suffers similar injuries to key players an 8-8 finish might not look so promising.
I certainly didn't see a 12-4 team, but 9-7 or 8-8 certainly wasn't out of the realm of possibility. I think ZT can at least get that done, learning curve and all, in year 1.....maybe even a surprise win here and there to pull off 10 or 11 wins.

Lots of teams go on nice runs for short stretches, it means nothing. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. And we’re not the only team to deal with injuries.
Wins are wins....and yeah, most teams deal with injuries.....well, all teams do, but last year was quite the anomaly.
Let's play a game, regardless of the team....
If I told you:
You would lose your starting QB in week 10 and a quarter
your TE 1 in week 4
your TE2 in week 5
your starting C from week 1 to week 9
your pass rush specialist week 7
your 1st DT off the bench week 3
your WR1 week 8 thru 12, then the rest of the season after week 12
your WR2 week 14
your LB suspended first 4 games, then out from 7 to 10, and out the final game
your other LB hurt in week 1, then out for the year by week 7
yet another starting LB out for 6 weeks
CB 3 out weeks 6 -10
your LT out weeks 10-14, and hampered all year
....then add 10 other players that wound up on IR besides the starters here.....
....would you say they had a good shot at the playoffs, or nah? I mean, we talk about the Falcons as devastated by injury.....(which they were).

That's the point, but I feel like your confidence interval is well over the standard 95%.

The funny thing is 4-1 WITH Marvin...then injuries...
So people are like 'Marvin was a terrible coach so Taylor is an upgrade and we'll be healthy' so great record.
Why doesn't Marvin get the benefit of the doubt?

You never saw the videos of Marvin sneaking into players rooms at night, hitting them in the knees with a baseball bat then sneaking out before anyone noticed then saying they were injured during games? I'm surprised..

Please stop encouraging each other to dredge up old posts and openly violate the CoC.
No one likes their CoC to be violated.
Oh... and please cut out the personal stuff. We are supposed to be talking about the team, not what someone else posted two years ago, for Christ's sake.
After events from earlier this week, this thread is teetering on the edge of the garbage can. Sort of an incendiary title to begin with, IMAO.

and by the way your bottom end of the roster was getting x amount of snaps toward the end of the year that wasnt in the gameplan.
1. took the playoff bound Chargers to the wire.
2. hung with the Ravens.
3. same for the Steelers
all of this wirh a dumbed down playbook and a HC who had zero passion left by week 14

Very true.....just a cluster of a season all the way around. This is pretty much the reason I think ZT & Co. can get us a game or two above .500 as long as vital cogs stay healthy and the staff is competent.

Enjoyment is fine.... so long as as it doesn't require calling others out or personal attacks.
We aren't running a cage match here.

I see his backup in Trey Hoskins being a better fit as he played very well last season when price was injured.I see Price getting banged up during the season and someone will be replacing him.Does anyone know the names of all the backups for the entire O-line and are they good enough to come in and hold up and to me we go as far as the line will allow Dalton to play and he likes to bale out as soon as he feels the pressure of the line not holding up.We shall see how it goes.Regardless, I am looking forward to seeing a ZT offense in action.who-dey :andy:
Let's look at your statement in depth....You state that Price will not be good because he is too short to pay the position. So let's examine the top centers in the game today. So the height, weight, and arm length of Price will be out benchmark..
Billy Price - height - 6'3"
weight - 305
arm length - 32"
wingspan - 75 2/8"
And now the top ranked centers in the game today:
Travis Frederick height - 6'4"
weight - 312
arm length - 33"
Alex Mack height - 6'4"
weight - 311
arm length - 33"
Rodney Hudson height - 6'2"
weight - 299
arm length - 32 1/2"
Maurkice Pouncey height - 6'4"
weight - 304
arm length - 32 1/2"
Jason Kelce height - 6'3"
weight - 280
arm length - 32 1/2"
Weston Richburg height - 6'3"
weight - 298
arm length - 33 3/8"
Ryan Kalil height - 6'2"
weight - 300
So as you can see your metric of him being too short really holds no water. How about maybe that he was a rookie and playing back into shape from a combine injury?
