Agreed, not a world beater, but played well against the run.

And yet he was still the best player on the field including Defense.

Hart - 83.6
Jordan - 75.3
Williams - 68.3
Redmond - 62.1
Hopkins - 60.9
Price - 60.4
Johnson - 42.5

The good performances by Hart and Jordan have boosted them in their full-season ratings to now have 4 OL with a rating of 60+:
Williams - 74.8 (27th OT in league)
Hart - 70.6 (37th OT) - finally over 70!
Michael Jordan - 60.1 (46th G) - finally over 60!
Trey Hopkins - 63.1 (27th C)

If you add XSF (75.5) and/or Spain (60.6) - you have a full OL that is 60+, with your OTs being 70+.

If the Bengals can maintain that level through the rest of the season (still have PITx2, BAL), OL may not be quite as big of an immediate need in the offseason as we thought a month ago.

That's what some said last year as well when the O-line picked it up during the second half of the year but in both cases the play-offs were already as good as gone by the time they did so.

I’m not arguing that, just saying the analytics will take those plays and weigh down his score.

The Brown family way of thinking

Lol true.

But I'm referencing just not absolutely having to use a 1st round pick, not waiting until Day 3 to address OL lol.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

I know. Look, they usually do think that way whenever a player or position group has a couple good games to end the season. Your rationale is should they play their last 8-9 games that way. Makes sense, after all the OL group is about continuity.

I have been defending him all day since the game as my naked eye saw him play very well when Garrett went to his side (he had more success against Jonah) and it just figures he has a nice day right when he goes down with an injury.

We've signed a number of guys off the street that have done at least somewhat ok.  Can we not do the same here?  Literally sign anyone else, and drop this bum.

Need someone to start at LT this week?

PFF has hated on Fred since last year, yet he's looked just fine by the eye test, since last year.

He gave up one glaring pressure, from what I saw and that's it; he also lifted a DB up and slammed him down.

Yep, and he may not be the second coming of Whitworth, but he is all we have right now.  I am actually kind of excited to see Adeniji get a shot at RT, but sad that Hart was injured.  He was really starting to come on.  Did I just write that?  Nervous

According to PFF, Myles Garrett lined up in front of Hart 50 times.  Not a bad score at all when lined up against one of the best in the NFL

If we give Hart some help via scheme (chips) he does alright in pass protection. He's generally been pretty good run blocking.

Still, our best graded OL are still below 25th at their positions. We should be on the hunt for elite level a OL guys in the draft & FA , T, G, or C.
