Player A leaves, Player B is signed. I think this is my biggest issue with change all your personnel to zone. This is year 3 of Lou's zone defense. It hasnt worked in years 1 or 2. If this defense is giving up 25+ ppg and the teams 0-4 after 4 games does Lou survive the season? I think he'll be fired during the season or after it because he's a shitty coach but that's my opinion. If the Defense is that bad and say the Bengals finish the season 6-10, I think the whole coaching staff is gone. So now your stuck with having to hire a coach who'll bring a coach who'll only coach zone. As far as Trey, I respect your opinion on his game, however, i was watching highlights of his sacks from last season, and mehhh. Dude has a high end motor and doesn't quit. He's not very fleet of foot and power rushes. Quite a few of his sacks were due to coverage down field, which he wont have here because in NO he had 2 Tier 1 CB's. I personally seen a lot of clean up sacks nothing that he came around the corner and blew past the OT like Lawson would do. As far as Geno, dudes either going to get his 14M or he'll more than likely be playing else where next year. He knows his worth. He knows he'll be able to get 8-10M on the open market and the Bengals aren't going to pay him that. I'd love to keep the guy cause I think he's a HOF and he deserves to retire in a Bengals uniform but its all about business.

I can make an argument honestly we're not any better after spending that money. That's the sad reality of this team. This is kind of a side point to your question, but I think just getting Reader and Waynes in the starting lineup is going to compound these 2021 signings on defense.

Then you need to stop watching Highlights on Trey and watch FULL GAME FILM. Because he often bull rushed the LT and got to the QB, he also does have a terrific motor and doesn't quit on a play, getting the sack on 2nd and 3rd effort. As for the Saints CBs. Lattimore is solid, but he is nowhere near what he was his rookie year. He played closer to that this year, but not to where it was. Jenkins was AVERAGE at best and one of the reasons the Saints decided to cut him to save CAP space. Their Nickel CB is GARBAGE, PJ Williams was so bad they were using a S Gardner-Johnson in the Nickel often. So The Saints did NOT have tremendous coverage that lead to all these coverage sacks. That is Beyond false.

Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive. Sorry for Party Rocking!

Like i've said i have been a fan of this team since 1982 and the highlight of my fandom is definitely the 1988 season because i was old enough to remember all of it not just some of it. I'd love to see this team make the playoffs 7 out of 10 years. I'd love to see Zac Taylor be successful because I like the idea of having a young coach being at the helm. My only problem with Taylor currently is he's becoming Marvin Lewis in press conferences. Horrible press conferences. Unfortunately, I see better than I hear, and what i seen the last 2 seasons is he isnt a leader. He isnt someone who commands respect. My guess the reason JoeyB likes him is because Taylor went to Nebraska for college and that's where Burrows whole family went. |
