If we win, we are still at most 2 games back from the WC so hopefully they will make a big move (1% chance) before the deadline.
Nobody is trading a 1st (or a 2nd or even a 3rd at this point) round pick for 8-9 games (depending on that team's bye week) of a currently injured Tee. He's probably missing this week, which would put him at missing 4 of the 9 games this year and put him on a 644 yard pace this season after a 656 yard 2023. He'd still be owed almost $11m this year, too.
Diontae Johnson was traded for a 5th, while having to give a 6th back.
Amari Cooper was traded for a 3rd and 7th, but having to give a 6th back.
Davante Adams was traded for a 3rd (with an extremely unlikely possibility of it becoming a 2nd) and isn't a rental.
DeAndre Hopkins was traded for a 5th (that could be a 4th if KC makes the SB).
At this point, largely because of the quad injury being his second and current injury of the year, he's likely going to be worth more as a future comp pick than the 5th round pick we'd get for him now. The time to trade him was during the offseason, preferably the 2022-2023 offseason when it was clear he was not going to be extended we could have gotten a 1st and 3rd, but the 2023-2024 offseason where we probably could have gotten a 2nd would have worked too.

Johnson is the youngest on your list, at 28. He is also reported to be a poor presence in the locker room. When Cooper was Tee's age he was traded for a 1st.
I could see a team scheduled to pick late in the draft giving up a second or third, at worst.
IF we lose tomorrow I hope we find out for his sake and the Bengals. If we win, I hope we go shopping.

Well one big difference between them and us is 7-0 6-2 5-3 vs 3-5, tell me what 3-5 teams are making moves, we probably should be sellers not buyers

Oddly enough, the Texans went 4-12 the last year Watson was a top tier QB. At least Burrow don't go scotched earth like him.

They're currently 1 to 1 1/2 games out of #7. If Indy and LAC lose, they're a 1/2 game behind the Chargers.

However, I do understand the disappointment in doing nothing. This organization boils me sometimes. I wish the Brown family would just sell this team to someone who would keep it here. Someone who wants to win. Paul Brown would be sick knowing this franchise is not going ALL-IN to win every year.
So let's go there. PB, after passing, had a stadium named after him and the team ran by his siblings. They used the team as an investment only and are still doing so. They don't have the spirit of PB. Spoiled friggen kids who only wanted the money, not the victory. If these idiots would only realize that the richest teams in the league are those who try to win, it would be amazing. I mean, I almost bought into the Katie taking over the team and things would be different, until I heard the interview with Andrew Whitworth and he said how Katie and Troy was against bringing him back. MB wanted him. He played 1 more year and was done.
Troy and Katie are trash for this team. The daughters have done special things for us, but it's all eye and ear candy to keep us entertained. I'm sure when they take it over, it will be more of the same.
Being a Bengals fan is hard. I could sure use some C.J. Uzomah to cheer me up right now. Hellova cheerleader.
you really should calm down..they have been to a Superbowl and 2 AFC conference championship games recently..who knows what would have happened last year if burrow was not hurt..and this year..we have had a rash of injuries..calling people trash is way too harsh

.anyone thinking that picking up a player is going to make a difference at this point in time..either way..is going to be disappointed

Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens all have 5+ wins.
They are clearly in contention for a division win and (deep) playoff run.
Their trades are to better their chances to get to the Super Bowl.
Bengals are 3-5 and no one can say with confidence they would even make the playoffs by adding a player.
I get wanting to make a trade to have a better chance, but Mike Brown and co. are definitely looking at it from a cost standpoint - If the team still doesn't make the playoffs or gets eliminated in the 1st round of the playoffs, is it worth losing draft pick(s) and the extra cost for the new player's salary?
The Bengals will wait to see how the Raiders game goes before deciding to be buyers, sellers, or more than likely just staying put like most years.
The last time they did a midseason trade was 2020 when Dunlap threw his tantrum about how he was used.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. If he can turn this into a playoff appearance, it will be impressive.
Sorry for Party Rocking!

Rams
Cowboys
Jets
Browns
All have 3 wins or fewer, and have QBs who have won or finished high in the MVP voting.

Feels like Chase Young and or Marshon Lattimore makes sense I wonder if they could secure both in a single deal for a 3rd and 6th

I would imagine that whoever the bengals bring in would likely not only be to help this year, but to also be part of the plan looking ahead into the future. The roster is pretty bleak, through 8 games. I still think they have potential to turn it around, and getting some new energy in the bullding might just be what turns the ship around.
I would point to bears last year (before and after Montez sweat, and the ravens 2022, before and after R smith.)

They are, and have been horrible. See how they treated Whit. Newbie fans that think that 2 years of lightning in a bottle make up for over 30 years of horrendous front office work are truly comical.

I'm okay with trades even with this team having a losing record since the draft isn't a full proof when Duke picks a player. His guys don't always immediately contribute to winning ball.

I'm really sick of the "poor Whit" narrative. The offered him a one-year deal, which at Whit's age was the smart play. LA offered three, and Whit beat Father time more than others tend to do. He was an outlier. It was still the smart offer.

Maybe... but these guys are safe until they aren't.
We can point to terrible drafting that has led to many bad years since 2015 and the only 2 good season during that period is because the team was stocked with outside Free Agents.
