The same thing the team is arguing, any team trading for Tee will argue as well.
More reason for Higgins to want to go elsewhere, honestly.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs
Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

JJ Watt should have been extended as well. Watt would command 38- 40 million a year now because of Crosby and Garrett contracts. Steelers either extend him or are forced to tag him in 2026. This is last year of his deal. He also is 31 like Trey.
You're not wrong! The only reason that I didn't mention Trey was because we/they gotta figure that we aren't going to pay all three. Lock up Burrows guys and rebuild the D. At least it's something of a plan moving forward. I didn't say that I liked it, but at least they're moving forward. Hell, I'll take just moving in any direction at this point. Just get rolling!

I have no problem trading Tee for a 1st and 3rd round pick. Add 26 million ro 2024 cap and no huge cap hits in 2026 and beyond.Invest the money and draft picks into a guard and on defensive side of the ball.
If DK just got a 2nd, why in the world do you think Tee would net more in return? You might think Tee is better (I'm not sure I do), but we aren't getting that much more for Tee than the Seahawks got for DK,

Kate and Troy’s ineptitude offends most of us. They’re inefficient and unwilling to adapt to the modern NFL. They’re holding back the team from competing for Super Bowls.

Yes. I think it means we'd get a 2nd for him.

DJ wanted traded once they traded Geno. Tee is 25 and right now the WR market lost 3 big time WR's. Adams, Metcalf and Godwin are off market. So WR demand is high and #1 WR availablity is low.
We may never get that much for Tee, but also don't have to trade him. In today's market, 26 million on 2025 is a decent price to pay Tee in 2025.
Rapoprt just said Godwin left 20 million dollars on the table.

Wow, you are one gullible little fella, Eric. FO had over a year/2 years to realize who they had and just how good they were, yet, they tell their stud DE to go ahead and seek a trade. As if they need "x and x" team to tell us Trey's worth and that he's a pretty good player in case that hasn't been evident every sunday for many years.
They send their GM/Duke out to tell the world, really, just to buy good PR that we're going to sign all 3 stars and we're going to make one of them the highest paid non-QB. Hey, lip service is great, huh.So why wait?? They only did that because they either used Homer Simpson's PR team or they really are that stupid. You know why egg prices just spiked even more in the past couple of days, it's because a whole bunch of them are running down the faces of the Brown family.
They have ZERO intention of signing all 3 players at least within a realm they could afford. They really just wanted to get it out their publicly that they're going to make great offers to each player and, by golly, if they turn down our offers well, it's on them. They allowed just enough deals to happen by teams recently that actually give a rat's arse about winning to dictate the new true value of their own Bengal players.
What do you think Burrow is thinking about this time? I think they're probably running back to him asking him if he can sweeten the loan to the Bengals just to cover the added value over these past couple days. You know, the QB that just had Josh Allen swarm over him a new contract with 250 mm guaranteed.
Now, you know what's really bad, yet to be discussed, and takes the cake? If the FO does sign 1, 2 or even all 3 players, they just wasted millions and millions and millions of $$ that not only are now taken away from the family's bottom line but $$ that could have actually helped them sign a couple other players to fill the holes they most definitely have because they simply failed to realize just how good their own players were as they could have signed these guys months and months ago, even a year or so ago, at a far less cost.
Eric, it's called bad bad business and not smart enough to value exactly what you have in the room.

Ian Rapoport just said on McAfee he thinks we will get both Chase and Tee's deal done at this point.

Well, I hope that it's today, and that they are also looking at adding players from outside of the organization.

How do you rate us having Trey locked up for less than 18 million in 2025? Is this bad business also or if we do not negotiate his deal genious move to save 15 million?
Or does that not count for your analysis but it shows great business acremen?

LOL. Wrong. He's over 26 mm for 2025. Could have locked him up a year ago at 23-24 mm/ multi year deal. You see how that works, now?
You really like a player who has proven he's a huge part of your offense,a guy unlike most any other WR in the league at going up to get balls, a great guy who does a lot for the community, a WR your star QB desperately pleads for and you allow other WR's out there to reset the market. Not to mention the goodwill that you literally suck out of the air as a franchise, once again, proving no really good FA wants to even negotiate with you because you don't give a crap about them.
Not to mention the multi mullions in additional $$ it will now take to pay these guys that you would not have had to a year ago. Great business "acremen"??

Chris Godwin returns to TB: The three-year deal is for $66 million and includes $44 million guaranteed, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.
This is the comp that I had been using for Tee, though Tee is 3 years younger. Another WR1 on a team with Mike Evans. Think Tee is asking more like $26/yr.

I heard Tee is asking for 30 mil per year, but 26 per year would be doable I would think.

Some pretty big contracts for some not so good WRs. Hefty pay days to Dyami Brown and Josh Palmer makes me want to get the damn deal done even more.

With all due respect, you're dead wrong about Trey's cost this year.

My fault. I was actually referring to Tee when said poster mentioned Trey. Regardless, the market price has only escalated substantially for Trey with multiple DE signings.
Bottom line is IF the Bengals want Trey around, imo, they sure have effed' it up unless they're hedging that others feel the same way.

The market price escalates as the cap goes up. Like inflation.
But, with all the criticism the Bengals front office deserves, I wonder if the 'They could have extended this player 2 years ago for less' holds true. For all we know, they could have offered that contract 2 years ago and he turned it down.
These guys seem to want a lot of guaranteed money and early in the contract.
There's absolutely no doubt that Chase will get paid more than the contract they offered him last year.
