That's exactly what is being said.

The team has not done a good job grooming/finding replacements when quality veterans left, thus pointing to the decline from a few years ago.

It's admirable they went 5-0 to finish the year last year, but they were 4-8 before that.
It was going to be extreme luck of all the other teams floundering to get them into the postseason.
Had the Bengals had a better gameplan and/or new faces so they could have hit the ground running in September, we might have been talking about the AFC North Champion, AFC Champion, or Super Bowl Champion Bengals.

Are people feeling good about the new faces they got this offseason?
I currently see this as a 9-11 win team.
If they *nail* the draft with 3+ guys who can be significant contributors as rookies, I could see 1-2 more wins.
But I'm not going into the draft thinking this is championship contender yet.
Zac Taylor 2019-2020: 6 total wins
Zac Taylor 2021-2022: Double-digit wins each season, plus 5 postseason wins
Zac Taylor 2023: 9 wins despite losing Burrow half the season
Zac Taylor 2024: Started 1-4. Ended 9-8 but barely missed playoffs

Changes needed to do better in Sept/Oct moving forward.

Sorry for Party Rocking!

So we can’t trust the draft
Can’t trust FA signings
Can’t trust them to find a gem on the cheap.

Yes, but missing in the draft and signing another team's castoff that gets hurt for the season two games in puts you in the same position, just the miss in the draft is cheaper.

You guys have to be realistic. We'll be lucky if 2 of our 6 picks become future contributors.

This board is asking a lot out of 3-6 round picks.

They better sign somebody to play the other Guard spot in case Volson still sucks and the Draft pick is not an instant Mims type.

Mims types are few and far between...
