Draft Day 2025!!!

True enough, Odell, Pollack and Burfict were pretty damn talented. Too bad, but at least Burfict had a pretty good career hitting stealers lol

Not that it proves one way or the other on Lewis but I mentioned it earlier and it was a good listen and insightful. I also think it's informative that a guy like Palmer who takes swipes at the Bengals whenever he can said that Marvin is a very good coach. I think he earned his shot here and ultimately did a good job while he was here. He lasted a a long as he did because he is a good coach and talent evaluator. Just never amounted to what we all would have hoped for in a championship.

Or a Playoff win. I like Marv, but I like how Zac's teams play for him late in the season, just wish we could start fast for once under Zac.

I don't think those guys are there in the 3rd and i think rd 1 should be pretty telling how fast they will go. Alot of value at DE later as well as alot of red flags on early guys I think could make them slide down the draft.

If I was gonna bet:

1) DT (Nolen/Harmon)
2) S (Emmanwori/Starks)
3) OT to guard conversion: Banks, Simmons, Zabel.

I would not go DE at #17. Good value later and flags with the true DEs. Now, I *might* take a pass rushing LB. Walker if there. Maybe Campbell. And if we are gonna play more 34 or 43, then Green is less of a role player and more of a starter level OLB.

But I fear we take Stewart or Williams & trade Trey.

When is the last time we had 10 atarters tgat kinda suck? Not even counting CTB.

Well, keep in mind Sample and CTB were 2nd round picks.  Battle, Ossai, and Pratt were 3rd round picks.  Volson was a 4th round pick.

Every team in the league except maybe the Eagles has plenty of mediocre-bad starters.

Nice thoughts Ike. My bet is Nolen tonight or Mike Green, we met with Nolen a lot and he would instantly be our best pass rushing DT.

Mike Green's character problems were years ago, I bet he is over this by now and Green was the best pass rushing Sack EDGE in the Nation.

Yep. Mike Browns favorite season finish. 8-8 gives fans hope, fills the seats, and makes the Bengal organization rich from underpaying talent and picking up 1yr prove it deals of great players past.

That's my fear as well. I hope we work it out with Trey but I did see a post earlier about if the Bengals should trade up if Mason Graham falls out of the top 10. I wonder if a team would be open to Trey and our 17th to move up if Graham falls?

This is the first year since like 2008 I know NOTHING about the draft, outside of hearing some names in passing I am going in blind but will be watching tonight.

Hopefully we get some guys that you guys are excited about so I can get excited about the pick Hilarious

Yeah I'd be thrilled with Nolen, Emmanwori or Banks.  I'm just projecting them gone, but I hope I'm wrong.  Nolen is a machine inside getting stuffs and direct pressure even if he doesn't get the sack.  Emmanwori living up to the hype would be a slam dunk.  Banks would be great value as he can slide outside longterm if needed.

But I want an OL in Rd 1 because they always go fast and picking 17 in Rd 2 we could be left out if there is a run early day 2 after more than expected go Rd 1. I also think an OL in rd 1 opens the door for later rd trade backs. But I know we desperately need a difference maker on defense so if the right one is there at 17 I'll be happy with that. A trade back in 1 is my real hope as we can get the most capital in return.

I've talked Blocking on here for years.  However not this year because this Defense stinks.  Also the O Line talent in this draft is questionable, but the D Talent is rich.  The Bengals can get amazing young talent on Defense at DT, Edge Rusher, LB, Safety, CB in these rounds.

I agree you must protect the QB.  Will you agree with me that even Burrow, Chase and Higgins can not be expected to score 50 points a game.  This nonsense that the Bengals must eat clock in fear of the other team getting the ball back, the D should not be that weak.  The Bengals have one of the best Offenses in NFL, but also have one of the worst Defenses in NFL.  A strong Defensive Draft would help, front to back on Defense.  Bengals new D Coach Golden should hang out a HIRING-HELP NEEDED sign.

Did the Eagles have a Good or Bad Defense ?  It's a copy cat league.  The Eagles showed The NFL is still not Touch Footy Ball.  Bengals awful D needs new employees.

The biggest issue with Marvin's teams is that that they were prepared for opening day like it was the Superbowl. They would typically start out hot and then be worn down on the backstretch of the season. Now, we're experiencing the complete polar opposite with Zac Taylor, as his teams need at least a month before they take the field and play like they didn't all just meet each other that morning. We need to find that comfortable balance where we're ready to start a season, yet fresh enough for the Championship run.

I hated how they nickel and dimed anchor players, like Richie Braham, year after year for IM contracts.

I digress due to the optimism of the upcoming draft, pulling for Campbell to support Wilson, play viper, and allow the d-line to be more run stoppers and block soakers.

NFL Network had Bucky Brooks mock and top picks on - I have to think he's high as a kite and secretly madly in love with Shemar Stewart...

I heard the OL class is better than what was originally reported. I also think if a guy like simmons or possibly Banks is there and you not only get a starting guard now but potential LT of the future that's hard to pass up. But I agree with you and I said it would/should be a Defense focused draft. I like Nolan and Harmon and I think they give us the most value in 1. I'd be excited about either of the top 2 safeties and even Jihad. I just think there is value at alot of defensive positions later.

I still give a significant chance we trade back a few spots as we have only 6 picks and where we sit in the draft there are multiple players meeting our needs.

I am just grateful we do not need a quarterback. Shedeur Sanders — Akili Smith 2.0 — is big time Mike Brown bait.

If the Bengals have good fortune, there will be a player that another team really covets sitting at 17 (Loveland, as the last blue-chip TE if Warren is gone?) and they make a trade with the Bengals. Picking up another 3rd or 2nd would be the kind of fortune the Bengals need.
