Trey Hendrickson Update

Trey really doesn’t have that much leverage here. Same for Shemar, honestly.

Trey will end up around $28,000,0000/annually and Stewart probably will
Sign what the bengals want. Maybe the bengals make a slight concession

Really hoping for a contract and not Trey saying he tried again and Katie being passive aggressive.

I could see a team like the Bears or Falcons being convinced a FA pass rusher is all they need to take the next step and give Trey a moronic contract we are too cheap or too smart to give him. It won't make us better to let him go. But what can ya do?

Hold out for a 1st round pick. Tiger Trey needs to stop thinking he's worth Miles Garrett or TJ Watt money and look at his ranking. He deserves to be paid between what Danielle Hunter and Aiden Hutchinson make, because that's where he's ranked.

Neither do. I’d expect Trey to get a $32 million avg per year for 3 years and Cincy some relief in year 3.
Romo “ so impressed with Zac ...1 of the best in the NFL… they are just fundamentally sound. Taylor the best winning % in the Playoffs of current coaches. Joe Burrow” Zac is the best head coach in the NFL & that gives me a lot of confidence." Taylor led the Bengals to their first playoff win since 1990, ending the longest active drought in the four major North American sports, en and appeared in Super Bowl LVI, the first since 1988.

Yeah if we're talking year 1 being a raise this year, next year fully guaranteed and the next year half guaranteed sounds about right.

Hutchinson is being projected to get $40.1-40.25m/yr.

Same with Parsons.

The EDGE market is only going to get higher and higher the longer they wait.

Do we know who reached out? Trey or the FO

Given that this is possibly Trey's last contract, I would get it done now, if the FO is serious about keeping him.

Just as the WR market did when they waited on Chase.

I continue to be amazed as to why people give a damn about theabove aforementioned sportswriters or anyone else...Stewart will be in camp and trey will get a reasonable extension....no story....and..by the way...the above aforementioned sportswriters have no more insight into negotiations than you, I or anyone else...they create works of fiction everyday

That sounds fair to me.   28 million per year is a little too low.  Needs to be at least in the 30s so you are in the ballpark of Crosby at 35 million.  Crosby is generally regarded as a better all around DE than Hendrickson and is 3 years younger at age 27 while Hendrickson is 30.

Well good news because never will get resolved (other than a trade) until they talk.

Please use 2025 free agency to fix the trenches, not the draft!!!!!!!!

Without Hendrickson, the Bengals playoff hopes are already over. Their defense is already looking like it will be rough at best, but without your All-Pro sack king? It would be the worst in the league. We saw last year that even if you ask Burrow to throw it 40 times a game to put up MVP-like numbers and Chase has a triple crown, that's still not enough. That's then a third straight season of missing the playoffs, another year of Burrow's career gone, and a souring of fans who the Blackburns want money from.

It's why star players have always had more say and leverage. There's so few of them, they have a massively outsized impact compared to non-stars, and they're so hard/impossible to replace.

The bengals hired a great defensive coordinator...added players in the draft and FA...even though you may not like them....defense with hendrickson was bad last year and if you hinestly believe that one player..is gonna make or break this defense...good luck with that

Cool ranking. However, Trey’s numbers speak for themselves.

A great college DC. He’s completely unproven as a DC at the NFL level.

Yeah, that would be cool if getting sacks was all a defensive end is supposed to do, but they also need to show up in the run game. That's where Trey drops.

Yep, and next year when he is up for a new contract, he should get that. I think a 12 million dollar raise this year is more than fair.

Get this done & the Shemar thing resolved before camp, that way:

1) We hit the ground running at camp. No distractions with everyone healthy and Stewart learning from Trey.

2) We'll have exact numbers on the cap forcthis year (and the major deals for the next couple). So IF we want to add (IOL, S, CB, etc), we know how much we have to play with.
